Some times people are able to easily cure their dandruff problem by using old remedial methods or simply by washing their hair everyday with regular shampoo, but for others, the dandruff simply won't go away.
The reason for this is due to your scalp generating more cells than are being removed. This problem can also be greatly amplified by anxiety. Think about it, you get anxiety from having dandruff, and that acts as a catalyst.
The best solution for those types of people is to use a anti-dandruff shampoo. They contain an active ingredient to not only to get rid of the extra cells but to provide lubrication to your hair so it becomes easier to wash out the cells.

I had terrible dandruff from age 18, I tried all the usual shampoos, head and shoulders, vosene etc. but nothing worked. I then tried Nizoral, but had some awful side effects, which other people have also had, see however I found the Schwartzkopf anti dandruff lotion to be excellent. You apply it after shampoo but don't wash it off. I then started using ProFusion for hair loss and found that was also great for dandruff which saved me quite a lot of money on the Schwartzkopf stuff.

My dandruff was cured by the usage of medicated shampoo and the massage of olive oil regularly. Now I am free of dandruff tension.
