I am on Entocort for the Crohn's and on indomethacin for the arthritis. I started with joint swelling first and Doctor's didn't know what was wrong with me and after 6 months they figured out it was CRohn's. it is terrible, the arthritis is soo painful and my knee swells to the size of a bowling ball and my toes get fat and it is painful. anyone have this and what are they on? Hi, yes I had the same problem at age 20 and predisone had me walking pretty good in about 10 hours. I am 36 now and suffering and tried Humira with really bad reactions.

I don't think Humira or remicade would be a good thing as i know people that who are on these drugs and have become immuned to both of themThere are lots of side affects to both these drugs , so i would do some research before taking either one of them.

When Remicade stopped working for me, I started taking low-dose naltrexone. My Crohn's AND arthritis got better on LDN.

I developed arthritis with my Crohn's disease too. When I started LDN therapy both cleared up.

I also have arthritis associated with Crohn's disease. After I started low-dose naltrexone (LDN) therapy the Crohn's AND the arthritis symptoms went away. i've had crohn's for 13 years; i take remicade which still works great after 6 years, but it only helps the crohn's NOT the arthritis. i have terrible joint swelling and pain and mine migrates. just wanted to warn you about prednisone. i took a lot of it in my 20's and now at 36 i have necrosis in my hip and have to have it replaced (b/c of prednisone). so just be careful. me too wrote: i was diagnosed with rumitoid arthritis in my knee shorltly after injuring it. they said its because im a chrones patient. now it feels like its spreding to other areas. im about 30 years old and got chrones when i was 15. remmicade seems to keep chrones under control but doesnt help my arthrtis so far. only predisone which i hate to take.

I'v had crohn's sense I was 21 years old I'am now 59 year old. I have had 7 operation, and forgot how many times I have been in the emergency room and the hospital. I started getting arthritis because of my crohn's, my doctor at that time in 1975 told me with crohn's come arthritis sooner or later. I have live with it and work with it in alot of pain at times it just became a way of life. I'v try everything to help it but nothing seem to work on a long term basis, so I'v learn to just live with it. HANG IN THERE STEVE

I am 18 years old. I was diagnosed with Crohn's when I was 7 then diagnosed with Arthritis a few years later. I started taking Humira when I was 16. I now take Humira every 2weeks for my Crohn's/Arthritis. It has done wonders but it lowers your immune system. Before, my arthritis only seemed to effect my two knees but lately I'm beginning to think that I may be becoming immune to the injections. Because now I think that the arthritis is starting to effect my lower back and I also think my Crohn's is beginning to act up again.
I've been in so much pain due to my arthritis/chron's that I have been unable to attend my first year of college. If I've become immune to the Humira..I just don't know what else is left for me to try to make the pain go away.

I started with Crohn's at 21 and now at 59 I've started to develop arthritis pain in my wrists, fingers, shoulders and knees. I had been on remicade for 4 years which worked wonders for me, not 1 flare-up during the entire time I was on the remicade. But with the development of the arthritis, I was taken off of the remicade and almost immediately (2 months later, I had a flare-up with stomach pain and 20-25 BM's a day,and last week had surgical repair of a fistula). I just had my first injection of Humira today and hope I have as much success with this drug as I had with the remicade.

I was diagnosed with crohns 5 years ago and arthritis in the last 7 months. I havent been able to control the arthritis since. I am waiting to start Humira and am finding the waiting process very frustrating. My boss is totally uncaring and is expecting me to continue working in a very physical and mentally demanding job. I am desperate for this treatment to work, I would love my life back. I have read lots of posts and am aware that not many people are on Humira and would love to hear a positive on this treatment.

I had the same problem and Remicade helped for a while. When it stopped working, I tried Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN) and now I'm symptom free.
