Bowltrol is a heavy stimulant laxative and I don't take them because the short and long-term effects are potentially quite harmful. 3 of the first 4 ingredients (rhubarb, cascara sagrada and aloe) are packed with a type of chemical called anthraquinones that have been shown in studies to damage the colon and to cause dependence. It's true that it's natural, but that doesn't necessarily mean its healthy.

Whatever you do read first. It's a good read. There's alot of things you don't know about it.

I love it. I bought 6 bottles.. Did it for 3 months and was the first time in my life I've ever been "regular". Then I got pregnant, so had to stop taking it.. after the baby was born, I forgot about the bowtrol and went back to having a bm every 3 days or so (painful).. just starting taking my bowtrol again and immediately feel better. so for those of us who need help to be regular, I highly recommend!

Bowtrol worked to relieve my constipation, BUT I became dependent on it for two years and then went to a doctor who told me that two of its ingredients, Senna & Cascara Sagrada, are toxic and should never be used for more than a few days. It also is addictive--your bowel gets lazy and if you go off it, you get severely constipated. Now I'm having a colonoscopy to see if I have other damage.

The Bowtrol Internet sites are bogus, if you didn't figure that out already. And it's interesting that the company service reps on the phone now say you shouldn't take Bowtrol for more than two weeks before switching to their probiotic product--that info. is not on their websites, but you'll find out if you sign up for a "lifetime" membership.

So the end result of Bowtrol for me: bloated abdomen, constipation, multiple visits to a gastroenterologist, and worry that the product may have damaged me permanently. I'll report back when I know more. Meantime, for the last week I've been taking Amitiza, prescribed by the doctor; so far, more bloating and cramping. By the way, I'm otherwise very healthy, not overweight, with a good diet (fish and veggies and fruit and grains, no meat). I'm drinking fennel and peppermint tea, which helps with the abdominal pain.

I took 4 tablets last night at 8 pm, it is now 1pm the next day and nothing. As a vegetarian and ex-meat eater I decided I would give this a go. I'm pretty in tune with my body and I can say right now this product will not and is not working.
Lots of posters on here are clearly fake who say it does work for the purpose of selling this garbage product.
Yes, even though it is only evening later I feel absolutely no change in my stomach - no rumblings, no movement, the same feeling as if I had not taken them.

I have better things to spend my money on and clearly Bowtrol are theives.
I should have known better but alas the internet is awash with this didgy scam company beset on hyping themselves to sell their product.

I was even dumb enough to not notice the same patter of comments in this forum which are clearly from a small number of people making money for themselves.
This stuff is not cheap, best save your money than give it to heartless ciminals who, by all intent, send out orders late so you can't get refunds and take funds when you are not happy.

Luckily I only bought a 60 day supply from Amazon so I've learnt a relitvely low-cost lesson that vermin traders lie and give you false hope.

BE WARNED. I have nothing to gain.

One other thing. How often do you troll through your own crap ? Have you thought the people saying they have results are actually just seeing their waste for the first time and thinking they are seeing subnormal contents and praising the Bowtrol ? likely !

To add, this nonsens about 'colon' shaped aliens has to be rubbish - the sphincter would no way make something like that come out untouched and shaped like your colon ! think about it !

"Might not work for some people" utter bs. It either works or does not.

To my bad judgement I am going to persist with it and when I have conclusive proof this does not work I am going to rip this firm apart comprehensively.

This stuff is dangerous! There are safe alternatives, such as Triphala, which is sold in health food stores..Works like a charm, and no harmful effects. Less pricey, too.

Bowtrol loves marketing itself, that much is clear. I think it should be taken off the market, since it can cause lasting damage to the intestinal wall. Please check with your doctor before wasting your money and possibly risking your health. The company does NOT stand behind the product.

I ordered Bowtrol about two months ago and I'm finding out that it is not worth it. I have been taking it for almost two months now and I do not feel any different than the first day I tried it. I'm extremely disappointed with the product and will never recommend it to anyone. I feel bloated and have bouts of constipation while taking Bowtrol. I don't even think they have the right to call it a colon cleanser. DO NOT TRY BOWTROL!
