Hello,

Is it possible to memorize the correct arangment of this test? Are all the Farnsworth-Munsell D-15's the exact same?

Thanks a million!

Tom...why would you want to memorize the arrangment? If you are seeking to become a pilot or anything else that requires perfect colour vision then you are looking at the wrong alternative. Firstly....the doctor who tests you will show you the ishihara plates in a random order which means that there will be no way to pass by memorizing the order. I have heared that people have bought the plates and practiced them so that they could spot the number by knowing the pattern of the dots. I highly doubt this will work for everytone though and if you get cought cheating, you can kiss your career goodbye. There are many other alternatives though which can lead you to reach your goal, and your chances of passing those are much higher than learning the plates.

There is no pattern on D 15 test unfortunately. There are just different small caps of hues. These caps will be mixed up before given to you. You are suppose to arrange them back in the sequence base on the hue (how they appear to you.)

Hey Tom how did this go for you? Did you buy a D15 test and did it help you pass? In a similar situation with a family member.
Thanks!!!

Why memorise?
Purchase some ColorView lens. I did yesterday. I have severe deuton deficiency. These new lens are brilliant! Red flowers, previously invisible spring to life; Different colors of grasses etc that I once thought were the same. Ishihara plates are no problem. Berries on shrubs become visible etc etc The world has changed! Wikipedia needs to be updated with regard to correction lens for colorblindness.

There is a doctor in Maryland who guarantees 100% that you can pass the test with his color correction system. Check out his website http:/www.colormax.org . Color vision correction changed my life as I know have my dream job. I personally thinks its discrimination against color blind people. People who wear contacts lenses can't pass a regular eye test without their lenses. So I why should be any different for color blindness!

As a former Cop I can tell you that most Agencies will not allow any kind of lens to be used to correct color deficiency. The first Agency I worked for was suspicious of my color vision so they sent me to a eye Doc. That Doc left me alone to arrange the dots on the Farnsworth test (FYI they are numbered on the bottom for the correct order). The next time I went for a color vision test (part of the overall physical for a new department) they Dr. had left the Ishihara book on the counter. The answers are in the back and very easy to memorize. I'm not proud that I had to cheat to get into my career, but it happened.

I wouldn't call it "discrimination" for Law Enforcement to not allow "color blind" people as Cops, there were times I really needed correct color vision (suspect clothing description, etc.) and it was a matter of life and death. So think about it before you cheat to get the job...it could be your, or your partners, life on the line.

If you have color vision deficiency, you don't realize all of what you don't see, so you don't have a frame of reference for understanding how it can be imperative to be able to use color properly in a job. You have no basis for comparison to be able to understand how much you miss.
You wouldn't want to have to depend on someone like me in a job that requires agility and speed, which includes law enforcement. I am clumsy and slow. My point here is that color vision deficiency is not the only type of limitation for getting a particular job. This is probably no consolation, but on the other hand, it may be that you are better suited (although less willing) to have a different job.
My son has deuteran color vision deficiency. He is amazingly observant - probably an unconscious compensation for his deficit. He uses this to his advantage quite well. I may be able to see color, but he often sees details I would otherwise miss. I work in environmental healthcare research. I have frequently benefited from his help on my projects.

I think it's better than the <url-http://www.offsetpress man.blogspot.com>Ishihara color blindness test</url>. I found out using that one that I am only blind to certain colors.

if you memorize it, it does not mean your cheating, it means you have learned the colors... so if i study problems in my text book for math, is that cheating????? no, because i studied it and learned the material, just like the colors....

i am trying to become a police officer and cannot pass the isihara test, not that it really matters because the test they do is a Farnsworth D15 which when i take it online i complete it with no issues at all, and my original eye doctor stopped doing the isihara test because he said it doesn't tell the extend or severity of colour blindness.
so he had one that was like the Farnsworth which has 4 coloured dots in a diamond surrounding a colour dot in the middle they all are of different the same colour but different shades of the colour and u have to pick which colour is closest to that one, i got everyone right he told me i have nothing to worry about,

So you obviously quit your career immediately or switched to an administrative position to prevent any further danger to your coworkers right or are you just another hypocrite telling everyone else why they don't deserve a dream job?

Daily Horoscope for May 25

Virgo

You have energy to burn today and it needs positive outlets, otherwise you'll be rather ratty and impatient. You want to work on activities that will show you in a good light, and you'll be annoyed if anyone objects to what you're doing or points out where you're going wrong. If you've been nursing a secret passion for someone, the frustration will really get to you.
