I wanted to let everyone with colitis or chrons know that your suffering is unnecessary. This is not a chronic lifetime disease that you have to live with. I had colitis for like 7 years... Do I have to describe my symptoms lol? I don't focus on the negative... You guys know how bad it gets!
When I typed in healing colitis in google, I barely wanted to hit enter cause I was tired of searching for cures. I tried the SCD diet, it put me in the emergency room... When I saw this book Self healing colitis and chron's by David Klein. It felt like maybe this was the answer, but I was skeptical of course. He explains how this disease, inflammed colon and all that is just a symptom of toxic overload basically. It's your body's way of trying to get rid of the toxins you keep ingesting with all this packaged crap they pass off as food these days. Most of us took anti-inflammatory meds, I was on salofalk for years. But these meds are just fighting what our body is doing to heal itself. Inflammation is a good thing! your body is trying to heal. But odds are if you were like me, your doctors told you diet had nothing to do with this disease so you continued to eat whatever the hell you wanted.
I'm telling you all right now, I'm just a real person who had colitis. I ain't sellin anything. I want you guys to google that book and buy it of course cause it will cure this horrible disease once and for all. You just need discipline to follow the diet. I'll tell you right now it's a 100% raw vegan diet. So some of you may think aww damn I gotta give up meat? and cooked food? I can't!! well if you enjoy shitting blood and wanting to die then pay no attention to me. If you want to beat this illness once and for all, permanently, maybe you want to hear what I have to say.
The basic science behind this is to stop eating toxic foods. Cooking destroys all the enzymes in food, and alot of the nutrients. The act of heating also produces certain toxins that weren't in the food in it's raw state. With that said, you want to be eating raw fresh organic fruits and veggies, nuts and seeds. But not all at the beginning!! man nuts and seeds will rape you lol. So will raw veggies. You want to heal this thing? You need complete bed rest. Sleep is the main component here. Your body will heal itself once you stop poisoning it... But you need rest! sleep is the number one healer. Then it's all about what your eating. You want easy to digest fruits only in the beginning. Bananas are the perfect food for this. Things like papaya, cantaloupe. Everyone is different though. So find a couple of fruits that are soft like that and eat only those for the first little while until you start to feel better! You don't want to eat too much in the beginning either. You don't need calories and nutrients right now. You need to stop eating garbage and get rest and let your body do the work. And it will!! I promise. Obviously your gonna want to get the book to know everything, I can't remember every detail though I'll answer questions if you have any. The book is right here next to me.

sorry I had a lot more written but only allowed 4000 characters per post.

I'm off all meds, I have one or two movements a day. They are painless, and odourless!! Once you start eating healthy, your crap doesn't smell bad. One thing that helps and may sound weird is to squat on your toilet when your takin a crap. Literally with your feet on the seat lol. It helps release your bowels like we were meant to do in nature. Sitting down on a seat is unnatural. I'm not suggesting you stop taking your meds. I'd get the book first. But for me, I stopped taking my salofalk, I went on a 2 day water fast. Started getting flu-like symptoms. I rode it out, and those symptoms passed by the next day. That's when I introduced a small amount of cantaloupe. Later in the day I had some RIPE bananas. That's very important, they have to be ripe. Yellow with plenty of black dots. If they aren't, they are still starchy and hard to digest. You can make smoothies with them by blending them with a bit of water. I did that for almost 2 weeks!! just those 2 foods. And I started to actually feel better. bleeding stopped, pain eased up. Now I don't feel like I even have colitis at all. The author said he had like a 100% success rate, and I don't think he's kidding! I hope I don't sound like some guy who's selling this book, I'm letting you in on as much as I can here. I just want you to feel better.

I feel so glad to be able to bring you guys this info. I suffered for so long! the biggest hurdle you will face, will be convincing your mind that you can actually cure this disease. And there's other factors, not just diet. You need to stay positive. Most digestive issues are some old emotional issue that your not dealing with. So you gotta do some soul searching and face your fears. If your not allergic to bananas, I would say that is the perfect food to be eating. You don't need greens right now. Later once you feel better, you can start juicing greens and blend them with the bananas for some minerals. Or steam something that looks easy to digest like peeled zucchini. Steaming is for the healing phase. Eventually your goal should be eating these veggies in there raw state which is most nutritious.

And trust me I know what your thinking already cause I thought the same thing. Eat fruit? are you crazy!! lol. I know, sounds too good to be true. Doctors always told me to avoid fruit. But that's what we thrive on. You will totally heal as long as your resting alot and eating very simple. It just takes discipline. Sure I got sick of bananas after awhile. But you gotta make this easy decision. Do you want to suffer through a couple weeks of possible drinking a banana smoothie that isn't appealing to you, or take meds for the rest of your life? I hope this post doesn't get deleted and you guys take me serious and look for that book. I'm sure you could find enough info without buying it. And I'll answer any questions I can. It's just nice to know all the info.

So that's about it. I'll answer any questions you have to the best of my ability. I'm not a doctor or anything. I'm a 26 year old guy who finally cured this bullshit disease and I want to help you guys do the same. You seriously don't have to suffer. And the more delicious food will come in time.

I'm going to search for other colitis forums and post this message, and try to get the word out. Try it out for yourselves, when it starts working for you, and it will... then you can spread the word as well. I didn't tell anyone until I knew for sure that this was the way to heal colitis. Good luck everyone!!! that's it, it's as simple as that. I felt pretty much completely better after 1 freakin weak lol. 7 years of hell cured in 1 week. That's how amazing our bodies are. You stop poisoning it, it will heal itself.

Peace!!

Yup, I did the same thing as you did 3 years ago and got the same results. The problem is that it came back this year. I started a fast for a week and the symptoms went away again. Now I am back on a banana diet and so far things are looking good again. I hope this time it lasts for more than 3 years, but even if it don't I know how to get rid of it again just by resting and a very easy to digest diet. It really is amazing. I struggled for almost 15 years until I found out about this. Thanks for the post and thanks David Klein.

wtfs the difference. you can say you are cured and not relapse for a long time until you flare due to a bad diet.

You're kidding, right? There is a big difference. Being "cured" means you no longer have a disease or the symptoms.... If it re-occurs, then I guess it wouldn't be "cured", now would it?

Thank you for your encouraging post. I am going to order the book and follow some of your suggestions. I'm having an incredible flare-up at the moment and am looking for alternatives to medication. I have one question. I was under the impression that Salofalk was mainly for Proctitis. Did you have Colitis, Proctitis or both? Thanks again for taking the time to inform people suffering from this disease.

So I've read the book for my boyfriend who is suffering with UC. I've tried to join him on this journey of healing, by eating the raw foods and giving up all the cooked foods etc with him. However, he is so exhausted and lethargic - I know sleep is important for the healing process but he really isn't able to sleep all day, for he is in the middle of completing his thesis. Is there anything you recommend for the tiredness? I'm worried he is not getting enough to eat, for his eyes are sunken and he is already so skinny. He isn't bleeding lately though since trying this diet...but he really looks exhausted and falls asleep every chance he gets...which I am supportive of, but while he is awake any thoughts on how he can get more energy. Also when is it safe to start reintroducing either raw foods or nuts and such...stuff with more calories than a banana etc.?
thanks so much!

Get him to the hospital!!! dur. Is it not obvious whats happening??? HE IS VERY ILL.
I can't belive people actually believe this diet works??? Are you insane??
Your body needs way more vitamins than it can offer you, the guy IS selling the book.
ULCERATIVE COLITUS AND CROHNS CAN KILL IF YOU IGNORE THEM!!
only a few years ago people were dying of these diseases and they still are in some countries.
No-one should risk this diet if they are flaring, years of study have gone into diet and ibd and this IS NOT a cure, everyone has DIFFERENT symptoms and triggers sometimes food sometimes stress.
Once colitus starts its getting serious, even though you may feel ok, your are not.
If you ignore this disease and its symptoms you could end up with having a colostomy bag, its not time to mess around with pathetically feeble diets, its time ot get to hospital and take what they give you, let the guinea pigs do the trials of diets and just get well!
It creeps up on you. Get well quick and dont buy fad books.
Nothing works for everyone.

I think your selling the book and you are suggesting things that could be very dangerous to anyone who believed the utter BS that you are talking.

I dont believe you have any ibd condition, I believe you have abook to promote.

I hope people will see how dangerous it could be to follow this diet when flaring.

If any one diet could cure anyon it would be all over the news and free!!!!! Get a proper job mate.

I agree with you Jo. There are an awful lot of hucksters on this forum selling things. Sometimes I view the posts on here as a sick form of entertainment- not people legitimately helping people. They always have soem sort of "secret" newly discoverd cure. If it truely worked, it would be all over the nightly news.

You don't have to be so rude about it. I am trying to help him, not hurt him. For a nurse you are not very good at communication skills. This is a painful disease to watch someone go through. I was asking for help not someone to act like I am an idiot.

The hospital and doctors AREN'T helping him, pumping him with drugs that don't work - is this your idea of helping?

I will continue my efforts elsewhere.

Alexa, you are describing a patient who has sunken eyes, is very tired and very thin. He sounds very very ill even though he is not bleeding at the moment.
He may not have been helped by the doctors he has been to so far but you have to keep trying. If he is doing a thesis, isnt here a teaching hospital near that he can go to for a consultation? I have found that is the best route when "local" doctors arent helping.

Doubt anyone is keeping up on this site, but I am 1 month into the diet and feel like a new man. David Klein is an honest caring human being who will conduct phone consultations to help support those going through it.

Kasey great work for sharing your story, I wish you excellent health!
