Hi Anna. UC for 11 years here. There might be a doctor near you in Ajax who performs this procedure. CBC did a segment a few years ago, called it fecal therapy for curing C-dif. Otherwise, try VSL#3 probiotics with combination of 5-ASA (both provided in Canada by Ferring - I guess they saw an opportunity...), it has kept me out of trouble for over a year, but gradually becoming less potent. Cabbage juice could be idea.

I am 1 year post a successful infusion performed at home. I had c diff not colitis but it was hell. I was 100 percent healthy 2 days later and have remained so. This is a link for an article I wrote explaining step by step the at home version, which is nearly identical to what the doc will do.
http://www.ehow.com/how_5181693_cure-infectio ...

and this is the link to the Duluth doc who performs it in his office.

can you email me the info on the home instructions at [email protected]

my baby is 8 and having a horrible time right now and we are ready to try anything.

thanks

Yes, I am six months post treatment, and feeling great. Went to Sydney as a last resort as other medication was ineffective and I was dependent on Prednisone. Have had moderate/severe UC for 15 years.
Only medication I am taking now is 6-8 grams of fish oil per day. Fingers Crossed!
All details are on the website: http://www.probiotictherapy.com.au/index.shtm...
Hi Jonny, I have read about this a lot and my husband is a patient of UC for 19 years. I dropped you an email @ the address you provided. Please help us there. thanks

all the links on how to do the HPI home infusions have been disabled. I have had C-Diff for 8 years and have been treated w/ vancomycin over 10 times. I am dying now from it (age 67) can someone email the precise home instructions for doing home infusion? Thank you so much.

Dr Schleinitz is starting to do HPI in Medford Oregon. His technique is to infuse 400 cc of emulsified donor stool by colonoscopy. He has done this procedure with great sucess. Now however the hospital (Rogue Valley Midical Center) has the all important protocal in place.
I called there today and spoke with someone in scheduling. Dr. Schleinitz does NOT perform this procedure for ulcerative colitis, just c diff.:(

That's sad to hear... I am desperately looking to get a fecal transplant done in a professional/medical setting somewhere other than flying all the way to Australia. I am in the US. Can anyone confirm a doctor or hospital (or private practice) that will perform this procedure in the US or Canada or a country closer by. I do have a donor or two that would be willing. I am also wondering the cost of the procedure anywhere including Sydney. Thanks everyone for all your info, Sandy I'm still curious about your progress as well!

Kirk, I tried it at home and could not keep the transplant in me. I actually have been fine I started my own diet. No Greasy foods/ fast foods, no dairy, and no carbonated products, no caffiene, it has worked for me one bowl movement a day, and 4 lialda a day, I feel that I could stop taking the meds. but I do not. I drink plenty of beer and eat some greasy food with my busy schedule.

I feel like I could maybe stop taking the meds but my doctor said its a whole lot easier to maintain a remission than to cure a flare up so he told me not to go below 3 Lialda per day even though I feel quite good. I was terrified to go from 4 down to 3 but nothing happened. I have late onset UC- was diagnosed at 58 -and this type is much easier to get into remission.

I have a copy of Borody's protocol for Home Infusion if anyone is interested. I understand that quite a lot of people do this at home on thmeselves with good results. Personally I would rather have it done by a hospital but maybe on balance it is better than having to travel to Oz.

Hi Steve,

I would love to have a copy for Home Infusion for my husband. It is just too far to travel to OZ. And I have been tested for the donor. Would you please forward me the copy at [email protected] Thank you very much.

Hello.
My 6 year old daughter was recently diagonsed with colitis so this is all new to us. She had bloody stool, weight loss, etc. We took her into sick kids hospital, and they did all their tests and this was what we were told. They put her on an NG feeding tube (give her bowel a rest). She was not able to tolerate the formula so they advised us to start her on Pred. mg. This has totaly broken my heart to watch my little girl suffer. Her life has just begun and I am very nervous about putting these harsh chemicals into her body. We have been to a naturapath, and have been giving her aloe juice and a chewable probiotic. We live in Toronto Canada and I am looking into this HPI procedure. Does anyone know where I can go to get this typ of treatment. I am willing to travel anywhere in Canada.
Thank You, and Good Luck to all.

UPDATE! I had HPI done yesterday 10-18-10 in Medford with Dr. Schleinitz. Now have to wait 2 weeks to see if it took. I was the 14th patient he has done this on. All 13 others treated before me were successful. I will update in 3 weeks. FYI, they are now doing the HPI now in SF and Carson City NV.

The places you say that are doing HPI are they doing it only for C.Diff or for other issues?
