Lori, My father is suffering from c-diff, I was wondering if you found any hospitals in Southern California that do the fecal transplant?
Thank you,

I was thinking about calling some hospitals, but if you have any pertinent info that would be great.

JOANNE - I SAW YOUR MESAGE & THOUGHT YOU MIGHT WANT TO READ THE FOLLOWING MESSAGE WHICH WAS POSTED ON ANOTHER FORUM. "I'm a naturopathic doctor in Portland, Oregon, USA, and I'm offering in-patient fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT), aka fecal transplant to people with ulcerative colitis and other conditions. My state licensing board is formally considering whether or not colonoscopic delivery is in my scope of practice, but until then I'll be offering enema delivery (5-day sessions), with a pre-screened donor bank and complementary therapies like acupuncture, abdominal massage, and herbal medicine.
If you'd like more info, my website is fecalmicrobiotatransplantation.com (or the easier-to-remember probioticinfusion.com ).
Best wishes, Mark Davis, ND"

I meant to post awhile back to let you all know that I was put on a medication called Difficid back in August 2011 (10-day course) and NO LONGER HAVE C. DIFFICILE! For anyone suffering from this infection, please check with your doctor about this miracle drug! I had C. Diff for about a year and 1/2 and finally got over the infection. The only drawback is that your doctor may have to "prove" to your insurance company that you have tried Flagyl and Vancomycin and still cannot get over the infection. It is a very expensive drug that was FDA-approved in May of this year and that is why it is so expensive. I have been well for 3 months and am so very thankful! Please let me know if anyone has questions and I will respond to the best of my ability.

medarg, went to the link for surveymonkey and it says "Thanks for taking the survey"!!!! So there was no place to click to take it!
Just had HPI on 10-18-2010. It did not take.
Bev, did you do the HPI for UC or C Diff? Also, where did you have the procedure performed?
I' ve been suffering from UC on and off for over 4 years. It is getting more agreessive and more difficult to treat with each flare. It put me in the hospital for 6 days this November. My remission seems to have stalled as I taper off of Prednisone. I'm strongly considering alternatives to the biologicals as this seems to be the next step in options should I go back into a full flare.
Thanks,
RC

I apologize but have not been on this website in quite awhile. I was able to get over the C.Diff infection and took Difficid, which was newly-approved by the FDA in May of 2011. My doctor had to prove to my insurance company that they'd tried to ween me off of the Vanco and Flagyl but, once he proved that, my insurance approved payment for the medication and 10 days later, I no longer had the infection. I have been well ever since and am just amaazed that I had to suffer so long. Please check with your doctor to see if this medication can be prescribed for your father.

Good luck to you and your dad,
Lori

Please check out "Ulcerative Colitis from the Bottom Up" if you are interested in reading about the successful experience one family had with doing fecal therapy at home. The author's daughter has been able to avoid prescription drugs while preventing flares using only fecal therapy. It sounds gross but it could be a lifesaver for anyone suffering from UC.

Hi Rob, Just wanted to see if you are still well after the HPI therapy. I am considering doing this for my UC. Did you see Dr Borody at the clinic or one of the other gastros there.
I phoned them the other day and there is a 8 month waiting list to see Dr Borody so was wondering whether or not to see one of the other doctors at the clinic. I guess they all know as much as Dr Borody. Thanks for your help.

Hi everyone. I'm looking for some help for my mother. She is 67yrs old and after almost 5ths of Chronic diarrhea, in and out of hospitals for mths, approximately 90 lbs, and dehydration to the point of near death. I just heard of the fecal transplant and I seriously need to find a place in Florida that will do it for her. PLEASE, if anyone can advise or reccomend where to go, I would greatly appreciate. As you know, it's life and death.
