Pain Medication

Like many others I have been cut off from my doctor from my pain medication that I was taking. I think its so funny that some doctors are so giving when it comes to the initial treatment and then once you are hooked on the meds (not from an addicts point of view) because your body relies on them they cut you off. I have a news flash for doctors, Just because the DEA is breathing down your neck doesn't mean my pain goes away. Anyway I am looking to get some help with some more available sources. I heard of ultram and tramidol and was wondering if anyone could comment on your experiences or suggestion that would be great. I go online and of course there are millions of sites I think I actually saw an add on Bank of America that was selling tramidol. I did find this site www.tramidol.com that kept coming up on google. Any help is appreciated thanks

Tramadol is an A-typical Opiate. It's good for mild pain. Use it at max dose. It's weaker than T-3. A few people get a buzz from it. My brother can take Soma and Tramadol together and it kills all his pain. Neither work for me. For me, it is like taking Tylenol for a gunshot wound.

Well, obviously if you're looking for something to help with you pain you are seeking drugs. I don't get it. Tylenol is a drug, just as Percocet is a drug. A better way to put it would be "relief" seeking. There are people like myself with degenerative diseases that will never be corrected, that there is no cure for, what are we supposed to do? I just want one doctor to answer that question.

I was in a car accident @ the age of 19 (n 1997) that broke 22 bones n my body- including 3 vertebrae in my lumbar spine. Fusion & Herrington rods were placed there (my upper left arm) & the 1's n my back were removed after 40 mos. I didn't know anything about pain management @ that time- just that it was gonna keep getting worse as I got older. After the birth of my daughter (Jan 2005), I had an appt w a pain dr n less than a mo. Since then, my treatment has been 100 percocet 10/325's/mo-- along w some facet block shots from 1 doc who hit my sciatic nerve (after that I changed 2 my current dr), chiropractor, yoga. My tolerance is WAY 2 high 4 what I get- it just BARELY takes the edge off. My PCP (who I go c once a mo. 4 my perc's) has mentioned pain management doc's 2 me b4, so I'm taking him up on it & they're n the middle of my referal now. I go back 2 c him dec 1st. I DON'T wanna go 2 a complicated pain management dr. I received a BOOK of paperwork 2 fill out 4 that PM office & they said 2 b prepared 2 stay AT LEAST 8 HOURS ON UR 1ST VISIT- what r they gonna do w me 4 8 hrs??? Any suggestions PLEASE on what 2 say 2 my dr so that he will increase my meds & I can stay where I'm @? I've been on the SAME DOSE 4 4 1/2 yrs! Would really appreciate some feedback.-thanks :)

I guess noone uses this forum that much anymore.... 4 the people that DO, I saw my original PCP @ the office (not the 1 I had been seeing, who appeared 2 b scared 2 increase my meds) & all I had 2 do was mention that I didn't wanna go 2 that PM clinic (which he said that that particular place just turns u n2 a drug addict) & that I've been on the same meds 4 41/2 yrs & I'm hurting. He immediately suggested roxicodone- 15mg- 4 x a day. So he basically DOUBLED what I had been taking. He also perscribed 7.5mg (?) of Mobix (sound right? Bottle not n front of me now) 2 take once a day 4 arthritis pain. This works MUCH better, BUT when it wears off, I feel like I hurt 10 times as much- if not more :( I woke up from the pain 2 take a roxi. That's when I decided 2 post my experience @ the office & the results of my new meds 2 help anyone else that may have a particular question regarding that medication, etc. I actually am waiting on my dr 2 give my ins permission 2 fill the Mobix (?-lol) so I should get that 2day.@ that point I'm going 2 call my drs office & c if maybe taking that 1 pill a day @ night b4 bed will help keep me from waking up n such pain (along w having the roxicodone n my system.) If anyone happens 2 check this out & u have an idea that may POSSIBLY help me from waking up n such pain, I would love 2 hear ur thoughts. I live in Mexico and I go to the U.S. for my Methadone because there are no good strong pain meds in Mex. I have a compassionate doctor who I have been seeing for many years. I am an ex heroin addict who has had two back surgies that left me worse off than before.

I would sugget looking for doctors. Don't beg just give them proof of your pain. I will be praying for you, do not give up!

oks bad and I understand why anyone would be reluctant to give me info. I was discharged from the Pain Clinic I had been going to. The rule is, once Discharged from one, Banned from all. I could fight this with a lawyer. Even if I did fight and win. I ask myself whether I want to go back to kissing the Pain Clinics butts. I have a friend that is also banned and her Sin was to yell at staff. My infraction is a bit more serious but yet doesn’t call for a Ban in a just world. I followed their rules for 4 years, always afraid I would say the wrong thing. I was afraid to even ask for more medication though I needed it. I am still afraid to ask my General Practitioner if he could switch the Skelaxtin to Soma. I think it would look like drug seeking behavior. I wanted to ask for that change for 2 years. I was afraid that if I would say and do the wrong thing, they would take my pain medications away. I treated the staff like they were Gods. When I went to the Pain Clinic 4 years ago, the pain was so bad I was planning to kill myself. The pain is better now and I think Oxicodone with this Lyrica that my MD gave me (The pain clinic never mentioned it) the pain could be controlled. The Lyrica has helped so much with the shooting pains. When it comes to fighting these Doctors and getting proper medical treatment in this country, I give up. They Win. I am tied of begging. I have almost crawled out of an Emergency Room that refused to give me pain medication 5 years. I will never forget that day, people were staring at me as I crouched/walked with all my weight on my cane. I was crying as I found my car. I am tied of begging. I begged my Doctor 2 months ago for either Oxicodone or Potassium Cyanide.He gave me neither. Problem with Mexico is the price of flying into a Major city. I don’t have that kind of money. And I don’t know how to set this up. There are websites that sell this info but I don’t know if I can trust these websites. I have heard that I can buy Oxicodone on the web legally but I don’t know how this done. I want to stay within American Law. I don’t want to break the laws and am looking for help legally. I am not some Pleasure Addict looking for drugs to get high. I need medication that will make it possible to live and not do something stupid in a moment of desperation. But I give up on getting the medications I need in this Country, They Win, they can keep their pain meds and …. I ask what is wrong with this country that people in pain are forced to beg and plead and be scared of being labeled a ‘Drug Seeker’ and be scared of them taking away the meds one does have. This is so wrong. I know that many people get help through websites and going to Mexico. I don’t know where else to turn. Yes, I sinned against the pain Clinic and broke their rules, one time. I agree that doctors in the U. S. suck when it comes to prescribing pain meds. My story. I have to herniated discs L4- L5 and L5- S1. I have just been diagnosed with nerve damage in the C spine area. I go to pain management but still am undertreated. These three problems have affected my job, my home life or my life as a whole. My doctor just yesterday precribes me hydrocodone 5-500!! What a joke. He said that he did not believe I was in 9 out of 10 pain. I did come back by asking how in the world he rated pain for someone else when he didnt know! Of course he got an attitude. I have never failed a drug screen. I tried to switch to another PM facility but they would not take me saying that I was too far into it with the other!! Two herniated discs and disc with nerve damage v. hydrocodone 5-500. Who is gonna win? Then of course the docs always worn against too much tylenol but still prescribe 500mg. IDIOTS

I also have been through all tests to prove my injuries. I am not just going in the docs office and claiming what I have. They have proof.
