I am new to this board or any board. I do not spend much time on computer anymore because it hurts my back to sit at computer. I was on Duragesic 50 for 3 years then Mylan 50 for a year. Mylan was better for me than name brand. I have 3 Dehydrated Discs and a Herniated disc. 4 months ago I was kicked out of the clinic and now seem to be banned from all clinics. I do not have money for lawyer to fight this. I can’t get even Percosets or Tylenol-3 from my regular Doc. I have tried looking for pain meds on the web and have only found Vicodin which would be better than nothing but I do not trust to give these Overseas companies my credit card number. I am looking for safe place to buy from. Also may want to go to Mexico and see Doctor there to get medication but do not know how to set this up. It is hard for me to search through all the web for information, so much is phony. I was wondering if anyone knew where I could get safe info. ladyshredded@yahoo.com. thanks

I realize that asking for this info looks bad and I understand why anyone would be reluctant to give me info. I was discharged from the Pain Clinic I had been going to. The rule is, once Discharged from one, Banned from all. I could fight this with a lawyer. Even if I did fight and win. I ask myself whether I want to go back to kissing the Pain Clinics butts. I have a friend that is also banned and her Sin was to yell at staff. My infraction is a bit more serious but yet doesn’t call for a Ban in a just world. I followed their rules for 4 years, always afraid I would say the wrong thing. I was afraid to even ask for more medication though I needed it. I am still afraid to ask my General Practitioner if he could switch the Skelaxtin to Soma. I think it would look like drug seeking behavior. I wanted to ask for that change for 2 years. I was afraid that if I would say and do the wrong thing, they would take my pain medications away. I treated the staff like they were Gods. When I went to the Pain Clinic 4 years ago, the pain was so bad I was planning to kill myself. The pain is better now and I think Oxicodone with this Lyrica that my MD gave me (The pain clinic never mentioned it) the pain could be controlled. The Lyrica has helped so much with the shooting pains. When it comes to fighting these Doctors and getting proper medical treatment in this country, I give up. They Win. I am tied of begging. I have almost crawled out of an Emergency Room that refused to give me pain medication 5 years. I will never forget that day, people were staring at me as I crouched/walked with all my weight on my cane. I was crying as I found my car. I am tied of begging. I begged my Doctor 2 months ago for either Oxicodone or Potassium Cyanide. He gave me neither. Problem with Mexico is the price of flying into a Major city. I don’t have that kind of money. And I don’t know how to set this up. There are websites that sell this info but I don’t know if I can trust these websites. I have heard that I can buy Oxicodone on the web legally but I don’t know how this done. I want to stay within American Law. I don’t want to break the laws and am looking for help legally. I am not some Pleasure Addict looking for drugs to get high. I need medication that will make it possible to live and not do something stupid in a moment of desperation. But I give up on getting the medications I need in this Country, They Win, they can keep their pain meds and …. I ask what is wrong with this country that people in pain are forced to beg and plead and be scared of being labeled a ‘Drug Seeker’ and be scared of them taking away the meds one does have. This is so wrong. I know that many people get help through websites and going to Mexico. I don’t know where else to turn. Yes, I sinned against the pain Clinic and broke their rules, one time. And now I am a bad person and don’t deserve proper medication in this country. ladyshredded@yahoo.com

I have been on the computer too long myself, so in short...I know what you mean about the Healthcare system and PAIN, I have neck, back and leg pain from an accident at work...have a good doctor now, but they sent me to 4 different work doctors who all said"there is nothing wrong with you"..imagine that. I have six herniated discs and continuous pain and muscle spasms. I have had doctors look at me funny and they alway think we are scamming because THERE IS SO MUCH OF IT GOING ON. BUT DON'T MAKE US PAY FOR THE DRUGGIES!!!!!No one understands chronic pain unless they have it.. it is a personality altering thing to always, always, be in pain.. I hope you find an answer...keep looking and talk to people. Someone will send you down the right path...

I am on Hydrocodone 7.5/500 1-2 tabs TID and Lyrica 75mg BID. I was put on this by my Spine Surgeon until I went all the conservative therapy measures and now he has told me I need surgery. He has been prescribing these meds to me for too long. I am workers comp so surgery is taking forever to approve. He sent me to Pain Management for med management. I think she may have something else in mind though. She doesn't want me to have surgery at all. Continuity of Care is bad between 2 docs who don't agree. I go tomorrow and I am so fearful she is going to take me off of my meds that have helped me so much to continue functioning...

Dear Shredded, you said it all! I am in the exact same boat that you find yourself in. That is how I found your comment on this web site. I have started looking for pain medication outside the medical establishment and stumbled across your posted plea. This country is TOTALLY SCREWED UP when it comes to taking care of people with severe, cronic pain. I am so sick of dealing with doctors who are scared to death to offer relief to people who suffer from cronic pain. They either can't find out what is wrong with us or don't know how to fix the problem if they CAN figure it out. I am sick to death of being looked at with suspicion as being someone who is looking to "party" instead of someone who is in terrible pain and needs legitimate help. I have heard on the news that there are places on the web that offer pain meds without prescriptions but I too don't know how to go about finding them and I am also scared to give any sites my credit card info. I am so tired of having to kiss the butts of incompetant, rude, egotistical idiots in pain centers and you are right! If you don't get down on your hands and knees and offer to worship at their feet, then you are being "uncoporative". I can only hope that one day each and every one of them will find themselves in our shoes. In the mean time, I will keep looking for help on the web. If you come across anyone reliable, I would sure appreciate your letting me know. I am a 53 year old woman and I am so weary of being alone in this "hell of a situation". Thanks, Reecie21

Has anybody else had this problem?
I have been taking morphine sulfate 60 mg. for several years. It is a generic for MSCONTIN
This is the 3 rd time I have noticed that when I get a new prescription, the pain relief is not as good and I feel like I am withdrawing from morphine.
I end up taking the IR just so I can get out of bed.

YES, WHEN I FIRST STOPPED IN THE CHRONIC PAIN FORUM...SOMEONE MENTIONED A MED CALLED KADIAN...THIS IS AN EXCELLENT MEDICATION FOR CHRONIC PAIN...I TRIED HE GENERIC MSCONTIN AND I FELT HORRIBLE...IRRITABLE, NOT MUCH PAIN RELIEVE...ETC....LOOK UP KADIAN AND TALK TO YOUR DOCTOR ABOUT IT...THERE ARE NO SIDE AFFECTS..YOU DO NOT FEEL DRUGGED..IT JUST HELPS TAKE AWAY SOME OF THE PAIN AND I CAN AT LEAST GET OUT OF BED AND WALK AROUND AND DO A FEW THINGS AROUND THE HOUSE A COUPLE DAYS A WEEK (back injury and herniated dicsc). KADIAN is also a time release morphine medication, but it works soooo much better than the mscontin. GOOD LUCK...

I understand all of you guys' problems.I have been trying to figure this out for years. I have severe nerve damage in my ankle due to an accident and I can't even get pain meds. They have given me everything under the sun that they think will work including a nerve block. I am tired of paying for the stupidity of all the druggies that ruin the chances for the people that really need them

I understand you both and the search on the web is absolutly stupid. the thought that we have to go this far is terrible and the fact is it is not our faults that we are in this situation it is the people that have abused it.

I am currently living in Mexico in chronic pain (about a half dozen things wrong with back plus arthritis in hips and knees). The strongest drug I seem to be able to get is Darvon, which is slightly more useful than nothing.

I don't want to do anything illegal, but I don't want to suffer horribly either. My doctor's last suggestion (if the darvon doesn't work) is to go back to the States, get a prescription, get it filled, bring it back. The cheapest I could do that would be around $2000, which, needless to say, I do not have. Besides, there's a limit to what they will prescribe, so that would mean repeated trips back. If I could afford all that I wouldn't be living in Mexico!

If anyone has any legal suggestions, please reply,

Thanks

why are all of you getting banned from pain clinic,s ?? this doesn,t make any since at all my husband has had a back surgery 4 yrs ago and now his disc is re ruptured he also has another ruptured disc plus other problems with his back he is on oxycontin 40,s, 3 times a day he has no problem getting pain medication he goes once a month for his script he rolls dice if he rolls a certain number then he is drug tested i don,t understand why your getting banned you must have done illegal drugs or had other medication in your system you wasn,t suppose to or you went to another doctor your not allowed to do that . theres no other reason other than that to be banned if you have a painful medical condition you should get pain medication .i also have pain i get 90 7.5 vicodin every month with no problem

Wow, what an interesting forum. I don't know how I ended up here (I started off by searching to see how one could detect a propofol OD -- i.e., urine, hair, etc.), and I started "wandering"...

I know for a fact that severe chronic pain is dealt with in a horrible way in this country. I also know, however, that for every 1 person I see that is legitimately affected by severe, chronic pain (I'm an RN), there are 99 people who want narcotics to get high. So you can see how healthcare providers can be extremely biased and skeptical (we aren't all that way, though!)...

To Diane: there is no "upper limit" on a lot of narcotics, including morphine. I cared for a cancer patient who -- near "the end" -- took 600mg of morphine by mouth several times a day. Hardly fazed her! Of course, if an "opiate-naive" person ingested that, they would certainly die, but once the body is acclimated to a dose, a tolerance develops, and soon more of the medication is needed to achieve analgesia. Tolerance is physical, whereas dependence is psychological (when someone likes the "high"); they are two separate issues, but patients & families interchange them often...

Anyway, it makes sense that you are having more pain if your MS Contin dose has been the same for years! I hope you can start feeling better soon.

You are ALL in my thoughts and prayers. Herniated discs run in my family, so I may be back on this site sometime in the (hopefully-not-soon) future... Until then, everyone take care...!

try living in kentucky and getting proper pain treatment. even with cancer you most likely will get nothing more than 40 lortab. according to a doctor i saw today who also happens to be the county judge " every doctor in kentucky is a drug peddler" the problem is that there are so many poor people in this state they sell pain pills for 6 to 12 dollars a pill depending on the type and strength. so those of us who have pain, chronic pain are the ones who suffer. the DEA aand police have made the DR's the bad guys and to add insult to injury some of those DR's are. I am going to get a senator who isnt in somebodies pocket to help us. So watch the changes that are coming, it will take time but IT WILL HAPPEN

I had a doctor in roland ok. who cut me out of his practice because his assistant said i was rude to her, my being rude was simply demanding that i speak with the Dr. This Dr. was suspended for 3 1/2 years for over prescribing and when he finally got his license back in the state next to the one he got suspended he came back with a vengance. He told me point blank the reason he prescribes so much medicine to ALL his patients is so that the patients would have enough to take and sell so they could afford to come back and see him every 30 days yep dr. bob kale roland OK. he gave me 360 lortab, 270 percoset,100 methadone and triazolam so i could sleep. he had the nerve to also say they cant touch me (med board) i havent killed anyone YET! he actually said this to me and he was implying that another Dr. Randeep Mann had 10 patient deaths so Kale considered himself CLEAN. It would be easy to nail this slime bag DR he has a really big mouth
