I have been taking various forms of Statins for lowering my cholestrol and they all had the same side effects. Ezetimibe being the latest tablet which give me pains in my knees, joint stiffness lathargy and restless nights due to knee pain. I find sleeping on my back with a pillow under the back of my knee relieves the pain and stiffness. I have stopped taking this drug having given it a reasonable test but the symptoms were the same as the other tablets I had been prescribed.

I don't know wich is worst slightly high cholesterol or the side effects they produce. Ezetimibe is the third tablet I have tried and all three gave me the same side effects. I will go back to my doctor in a week or two and will report back to this forum.

I have been taking Ezetrol for around 9 months and have been noticing some memory loss: forgetting the name of a familiar object, forgetting what I was saying etc, etc. Has anybody had the similar side effects? I would appreciate a response to my email address

I was prescribed this drug 6 weeks ago to work alongside the statin rosuvastatin. Apart from feeling generally tired. Its been OK. I have FH so whilst diet, excersise etc helps my body will always produce too much cholesterol, and the "bad" type. So for the moment I am putting up with the tiredness and taking a wait see attitude.

family history of heart disease.have hypertension and high cholestrol so given ezetimibe.i am a young fit 50 year old female. I now feel like a very old unfit 80 year old and i have only been on them a month. my knee clicks and make a squidgy sound, my joints ache and i have have awful pain between shoulder blades , itchy eyes and lethargy. I fell like I have been thrown off a block of flats when I get up out of bed in the mornings and thats after tossing and turning all night, What a nightmare. think I will take my chance and stick to bp drugs, exercise, 5 portions of fruit aday and moderation in everthing else.best wishes every one.

Been on eztrol 10mg and Amolvasc for 12 days now, sereve pins and needles to face, arms and legs, very itchy, extreme tiredness and back pain. Stopped taking the amolvasc as these symtoms related to that DRUG, but still got the problem, so now going to stop taking ezetrol to seewhat happens. Will keep you posted.
Hi, My husband had the same problem and Elzetrol was the problem. He has been off Elzetrol since 2 months now and he is slowly getting back being healthy again. He has no more severe pins and needles to his face, not tired anymore and he is now being treated for stomach problem (we presume the drug did this), since he never had stomach problem before. He has just taken a blood test to see how high the cholesterol went up since 2 months and if so, the GP told him he would try another kind of pill. We'll keep you posted. He is seeing the GP on the 16 November 2009.

Try Vit B3 in the form of Niacin. No side affects and better results than any cholesterol reducing drugs. Make sure you use the form INOSITOL HEXANICOTINATE. Other forms use different deliver systems which can result in side-affects.

I was about to take exetrol as I suffer stroke like effects when I use statins. I react to so many chemicals I think I will give it a miss. I will stick with the flax seeds. Does anyone know of any other natural remedies available? I Thanks for your comments.
