Low cholesterol, low HDL, help?

I just had my cholesterol taken today and my total was 154 with an HDL of 40. I don't know the triglycerides. I'm a 37 year old female, active, 138lbs 5'4, blood pressure 117/7x
I believe that my diet is relatively healthy: I eat fish multiple times a week, I love green vegetables, I cook almost every meal with olive oil and garlic, I'm intolerant to dairy so I don't eat a whole lot of it, I almost never eat red meat or white bread (although I do eat cereal - mini wheats and honey nut cheerios) and I don't like sweets. I spend at least an hour at the gym every weekday running on average 3 - 5 miles on every visit as well as doing weight work.
Any advice to get my HDL up would be appreciated. Thanks!

Oh, I should also note that I smoked for 15 years but I quit in 2007.
