I have a sharp pain directly in the center of my chest when i sneeze. Most of the time the sneeze doesnt fully come out. My chest even seems to pop or crackle when i sneeze. When i prop on my side or raise up from a laying position, I also have a sharp pain in the center of my chest. I figured it was a pulled muscle, but this has been going on for at least 3 months. I also haven't had any cold symptoms. Any ideas about the problem or suggestions are welcome. THANKS!

I don't have an answer for either of you because i have the same problem and have never gotten an answer to it. however, it was a sign for me that I just collapsed my lung. spontaneous pneumothorax its called. It felt like i was hit with the shock pads they use in hospitals. two days later i felt sore like i worked out. 2 days after that I was in the ER because my lung was deflated. It happened again, same kinda sneeze, same pain, except this time the symptoms came on the next day. I try to breathe out as much air as possible to minimize the chance of it collapsing again and to stave off that pain. also, don't hold your sneeze in

I fell into a hole in the ground 10 days ago, hit the side of the hole with left side of my body, from waist up. X-ray showed there is probably no apparent rib fracture. There is still terrible pain however with my body movements, and unbearable pain with sneeze.. coughs also bad. Breathing seems to be normal.
It would be most helpful if you could comment oh this situation; if the ribbs are not broken, what is causing all this pain? There are no bruises or anything visible from outside.

Chest pain is discomfort or pain that you feel anywhere along the front of your body between your neck and upper abdomen.Pain in the muscles or bones of the chest often occurs when you increase your activities or add exercise to your schedule. This is sometimes called chest wall pain. get more information from here:

I am 15 years old and I still have no idea why I am having so much chest pain when i sneeze. It's like what Berto wrote except it stays concentrated in the chest area for about 20 seconda and it feels like somebody just lit a fire in my chest and left it going. It doesn't help that I sneeze every 30 seconds. But I have no allergies that I know of. Help? It is the worst pain I have ever felt in my life next to the other one I couldn't find any kind of cause for.

If you have fibromyalgia you may have noticed that you often feel intense pain in your ribcage and chest. This aching and stabbing pain is very common in fibromyalgia and can really impact on your enjoyment of life. If your chest pains are making it difficult for you to complete your work, get a good night’s sleep, or even breathe deeply, it is important to visit with your health care provider. Chest pain in fibromyalgia is usually nothing to worry about, but occasionally it can indicate other problems.

It sounds like you might have a rib out, all you would to to do is go to a Chiropractor and get an adjustment. I used to work for one and this wouold happen all the time to people. You will be amazed how better you feel.

I'm a 27 year old male and I have had pain that starts across my chest and runs down my left arm and down my left leg so pretty much the entire left side of my body. The pain starts after I sneeze. I have high blood pressure and thought that might have something to do with it but not sure.

My pain is sharp and peircing when I sneeze. The area affected is my right upper chest.I can't figure if it's my lungs, muscles or back because there is a an unbearable pain inside my right shoulder bald that litterally takes my breath away-
a quick, short gasp of air even when I'm not sneezing but at rest or sleeping. I'm afraid to see a Dr.

Occasionally have had sharp chest pain after a violent sneeze. Most clear after a few minutes, but the pain is intense. When it lasts longer, like today, i burp all the time. Feels like I am having a heart attack but it has something to do with the gas. I do have acid reflux and a hietal hernia. Right now, I am going on hour 7 of intermitent stabbing pain in my chest following that sneeze earlier today. Not at all fun. If I had not had it before, I would swear it is a heart attack until the burping starts. Right after the initial sneeze, the pain can extend to both arms and legs as well as the neck.

Hi everyone, i have been having pain around my solar plexus when ever i sneeze was getting so bad a was having to wrap my arms around myself to ease the pain. Feb of this year i found a lump in my abdomin and went to the docs straight away , baring in mind im only 39.. was shocked when the doctor told me that i had non hodgkins lymphoma folicular which had transformed to high grade defused large b cell, i have been having chemo for 6 months now and has worked well and looking forward to a stem cell transplant next year :). do not hesitate if you are worried go see your doctor at worst he will tell you what you have and can get started on treatment, leave it too late and you may wish you hadn't.. all the best
