Can I get gluten from smells?

I have had dermatitis herpetiformis due to gluten in the past. I have stopped eating gluten, but am wondering whether I can still get gluten from smelling food that contains gluten (e.g. going to a restaurant).
I have heard that mucuous tissues can absorb gluten or that it could get absorbed through the lungs. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
