I wonder just when it is that a person feels its ok to say "all clear"
personally I think life will never be the same again, because Fear is always lurking in the back of ur mind...

Yes it is always going to be in the back of your mind. Then again, it's in the back of a lot of people's minds - even those who have never had cancer.
My own outlook is this - the treatments and surgeries have cleared the cancer so I say I'm clear; yes it could come back, but why should it? it doesn't have to.
Was once told that officially if you're free for five years then you're clear. i think that's more to do with insurance than any absolute truth.

i think ur probably right about the insurance thing, a woman i know lived with breast cancer for around 14 yrs. she had treatment, etc. was fine for a few years and then it started all over again for her. i think this last time, well i think she just couldn't do the fight anymore and maybe gave up. and i really cant blame her, its hard to stay positive for so many years, i think depression settles in and then in the end it just becomes to much and the fight goes out of ya..

:(

but everybody is different..
