Has anyone heard of Gendicine? The drug was approved by the Chinese regulatory authorities in the late 2003 for treatment of head and neck cancers. I was hoping to find some postings or articles from people who have been been treated or are receiving Gendicine treatment. So far, I haven't found much on Google.

Any feedback or comments will be appreciated.

Thank you.

Hi Charlene,

I have seen some reports of studies on Gendicine injected around the site of a resected ovarian tumour which seemed to indicate some benefit in preventing recurrence once the tumour has been removed. I'm not sure what the benefits would be for unresectable tumours. the people I met in China who had metastic cancer sadly did not benefit. I would advise anyone thinking of going to China to consult with an expert in their particular condition and not go to the Haidan hospital which has no speciality facilities. they will pretend that patients can be cured, while offering absolutely no clinical evidence to support their claims. In my oppinion it's a very dangerous place that exploits sick people.
I wish I could be more positive and I really do wish you well.

I have been here with my wife at the Beijing haidian hospital with my wife for 10 days now and i could not disagre with you more. The nurses nd doctors are the most attentive and caring people we have ever experienced(my wife was under the care of private hospitals in London). They also have all the facilities that the best hospitals in London have and more. They actually prescribed the same chemo drug to my wife as the doctors suggested in London, only they also gave her other things to strenghten her and control her pain.

I wonder if your experience in tainted by bad results or you are making it up as you go along. At least here the doctors do not treat patients in a two dimensional blinkered way as they do in the west. We hope to have positive results and if we don't our experience of the care and attention here has been very very positive.
