My son was just diagnosed with testicular cancer at the age of 24. Last month, he had surgery to remove the mass. The doc said he thinks he got it all. However, he also said that it does look malignant. We won't know for sure until the biopsy results come back. I'm just wanting to talk to other moms who have gone through this with their sons, or other men who have had similar experiences (especially those who were diagnosed this young). We were shocked, at first, to get that diagnosis because he is so young... and now were just scared. Fear of the unknown is a horrible feeling. We don't know what is in store for him. We are hoping for the best, which would be a final diagnosis of a benign mass or fatty tumor instead of a malignant tumor that will require chemotherapy, radiation, or worse. To make matters worse, I swallowed my pride and contacted his dad to let him know because they haven't spoken in a couple of years, and he didn't even bother to get in contact. His son, in the worst case scenario, could be dying and he doesn't even care! It's a very sad testimonial to a young man's life when his own father can't be bothered to give him a few words of encouragement or take the time to bury the hatchet under the circumstances. Well, this is one mom who will never turn her back on her son, regardless of the past.

Thanks for listening.
