It is SOOOOOOO WRONG to say surgery may be unnecessary for early breast cancer that it makes me want to SCREAM! ARRRRRRRGHHHHHH!!!

There. I feel a little better - but not really!

They say RIGHT THERE IN THE ARTICLE that they don't know which ones will grow and which will not.

They KNOW that SOMETIMES breast cancer spreads very early. VERY early. It happens.

What this article reported, all the concern BY THE MEDICAL EXPERTS after a lumpectomy is done, is exactly why I chose a mastectomy. By the time you add up the scar tissue from the surgery (or surgeries, they don't always get a clean margin the first time) and the scar tissue from radiation, you're NEVER going to have a "normal" mammogram on that breast again. Especially if you have small breasts (my case), to me it would have felt like saving a ticking time bomb purelly for vanity.

As it turns out, having a mastectomy sorts the wheat from the chaff quite quickly when it comes to dating. I wouldn't give a plug nickel for a man who couldn't deal with it.
