I am 21 and on prempro because I was on chemo and had to get the lupron shot. I have been on it for about 3-4 months. I will be stopping soon but I was surprised to read some of these stories. It makes me want to stop tomorrow. I want to have children someday and my reproductive endocrinologist prescribed this for me... Its not a form a birth control is it?

I was on this HRT started at age 48. Tried others.
Choose prempro. On about 5 or 7 yrs. No breast cancer in family until me.
I caught lump early. Stage one Now on Femara 2 1/2 yrs.
Just found lump in other breast.
Yes I am angry they lied to us. They used us.
Who do you think gave them the information? US
They put it out here to make a lot of money on a certain age group. Baby boomers. I had an early change of life. Late forties. Never drink never smoked
This made it safe for me too use? They already knew we were gone to be harmed.
I am to be on Femara for 5 yrs. Look up the side effects. They are true!!! I retired in 05, cancer in 06 Fermara 07. I hurt all over.
I by faith believe God has healed me and I am cancer free.
In two weeks I am going in to see my onc breast surgeon to have further evaluation of this lump.
Maybe this will help those to make a choice.

Bioidenticals will be the way I go, I've decided. Okay, so menopause is natural. Well, so are a lot of things that aren't real positive as we age. Maybe Gail hasn't had a difficult time with menopause but a lot of us have.

I took Prempro and saw very little difference. Of course, I was on the lowest dose around. But my skin and shape didn't improve, nor did I gain weight. My breasts still remained flabby. My sad and bad moods came upon me regardless. I suppose it helped with hot flashes, though.

But I really don't see how Prempro can give you muscle mass. I mean it's not that different from the Pill and that has been shown to actually decrease muscle mass. You'll work harder for less results.

I just went to the Dr. today after suffering for 4 years with very intense hot flashes every 15 minutes round the clock, no sleep, weight gain, no energy, depression and now for the last 6 months terrible menopausal migraines. My quality of life has been horrible these last 4 years. I have not had a menses for 15 months so I am now considered post-menopausal. I thought things would start to improve but they are the worse they have ever been. So my doctor just prescribed prempro. My bone DEXA scan came back showing Severe Osteopenia, but so close to Osteoporosis that we are just saying that I have it. I just want to feel like myself again. I'm not crazy about the stuff being made out of mare urine. I don't know whether these pharmaceutical companies are telling the truth about their products, cuz they just want to make money. I have read so many stories online about women feeling so much better after taking prempro, and that if you take the lowest dose and only stay on it for a short period of time to get over the hump, it won't harm you. My mother took it in her 50's for probably 5 years or so and then went off, and her menopause symptoms did not return after. She is now 72 and doing fine except for being diagnosed for Osteoporosis a few years ago, for which she takes once a month Boniva. But she is doing fine and has her mammograms every year. But then I read the horror stories on here about everyone knowing of someone who has gotten breast cancer after taking prempro even for less than a year. You just don't know what to believe anymore. I just turned 50 and like I said my first hot flash came when I was 46. I didn't want to take anything and just wanted to tough it out, but they are so severe, not just a couple a day, but a couple or more an hour, and then the migraines started. My hormones are just so out of whack that I just need some help getting them balanced again for a short period of time. I too do not want to get breast cancer, what woman does? I have 7 children and would like to see them all get married. Only one is married so far. I read that 1 in 8 women will get breast cancer, but 1 in 2 will get heart disease. I also read that 43,000 women die of breast cancer a year, but 63,000 die from a broken hip, and more than 250,000 die from heart disease. I don't want any of the above, but the truth is we all will die of one of them probably, just hopefully later! Wouldn't it be great if God could just tell us what to do, so that we don't harm ourselves. My grandmother had severe hot flashes and never took anything and lived to be 2 weeks shy of 94, dying of natural causes and old age. She was tough. But I also read that women today are suffering so much more than women of a generation or two ago. They don't know if our stressful lifestyles or hormones in the food supply might be causing it. I took the first Prempro today and will take the other tomorrow. The doctor made a 1 month appointment for me to come back to see if it is working for the hotflashes and whether I like being on it or not. She is letting it up to me, but she said the risks are so rare that when weighing the benefits and the risks she feels I will be OK to take it for a short period of time. I'll wait to see if it works or not. If it doesn't I certainly won't put it into my body. And if it does work I will only take it for a short period of time and then do the weaning process.

This issue with Prempro, or all medications involving HRT seem to bring out a lot of frustration, and anger with many Women on this forum.
I never said I was against Prempro.
Women have the opportunity to research and do their homework on Prempro, or other medications that involve estrogen. there are some Women that have certain risk factors and should discuss these risk factors with their physician.

http://inhousegeneric.com is an honest and genuine online pharmacy. We were not sure at first because this was our first order of generic medication from this pharmacy. Although it takes a bit long because it got stuck with custom, we are completely sastisfied with this online pharmacy.
You won't be disappointed with them. Their customer service is great too although they need to improve their phone system a bit more. If you need to call them just be sure to call during their working hours. Other than that we highly and sincerely recommend this online pharmacy to everyone.
