A retinoid called all-trans retinoic acid , which is a vitamin A-derivative, is already used successfully to treat a rare sub-type of acute myeloid leukemia , however this drug has not been effective for the more common types of AMLs.

The cancer of the blood known as leukemia was first thought as incurable but now more and more medication are being used to treat it. Although it may come as surprise that antidepressants may help in curing leukemia, it is a welcomed progress if it does improve the chances of living for those with such disease. even with the negative feedback about antidepressants, people might reconsider taking it after hearing about it.
