Adipose triglyceride lipase (ATGL) for the diagnosis of cancer cachexia

US patent application published on Sept.13, 2012 Described the use of adipose triglyceride lipase (ATGL) for the diagnosis of cancer cachexia and cachexia associated with AIDS, autoimmune disorders, drug addiction, alcoholism, chronic inflammatory disorders, cirrhosis of the liver, anorexia and neurodegenerative disease. ATGL was also shown to be a therapeutic drug target for the treatment of cancer cachexia.
