Collards and carrots may ward off breast cancer

Eating lots of carrots and cruciferous vegetables -- collard greens, cabbage, broccoli -- could reduce breast cancer risk, particularly an aggressive form common among African American women, suggests a large new study.

O.K you are right.Like the openning topic states collard greens yes according to Drs.wards off breast cancer,but a diet rich in collard greens and all leafy greens does that. So do avacados,strawberries,blue berries,because they are high in flavanoids and anti-oxidants.Also most medical folk are of the agreement,and this is what I wanted to get out- is that vitamin D is found to ward off most cancers,
especially breast cancer.So that most women would do good to take a vitamin D supplement,every day.Don't overdo it though cause it can be constipating,but take at least 500 mg vitamin D daily. I myself take a 1000 mg capsul every day.

On the vitamin D, AA folks, particularly the elderly and sedentary often get put on 7000 IU per day. They make 5000 IU capsules. Darker skin makes it harder to make the vitamin in the body naturally.

The American climate and diet is a major contributor of disease in Black Americans. For instance, BP have a greater risk of heart disease and diabetes than WP in the US, but in the tribes in Africa, it is mostly unheard of. There are a number of factors. They are more active, don't eat as much, and they get a whole lot more sunlight all year round. I have a feeling that even slaves in America didn't get too sick. They worked outdoors and didn't get to eat the most unhealthy stuff, and a lot of junk food was not invented.
