Heather Pick, a wife and mother who worked at WBNS-10TV, died a year ago Saturday after a valiant battle with breast cancer.

I remember waking up every morning and tuning in to 10TV with Heather and Chuck. She always had a smile on her face and was a joy to watch. She seemed so genuine and lovable; not to mention brave... publicly battling her breast cancer. The morning news hasn't been the same without Heather... she is definitely missed.

I still miss her and think of her often. She was an incredible lady! The photo of her with her husband and her little boy looking out so sheepishly just broke my heart.

Heather is my inspiration! I lost my mom in March to this terrible disease after a 16 year battle. She suffered greatly. And it was so hard to say goodbye. I wish prayer and love to Heathers husband and children. I know this isn't easy. God speed!

As a colleague there was no brighter smile in the newsroom even at 5am.
Despite her health problems she showed up everyday, did her work, and treated others with respect.
No one can fill the shoes left by Heather but we can certainly try to live up to her standards of being a caring parent, a good friend, and a great source of laughter.

I watched Heather every morning before leaving for work. It's not the same without her. Even a year later. She is truly missed. She has saved many lives over this past year. Thanks for the memories Heather!

I miss her inspiration every day, especially now that a good friend of mines breast cancer has come back as metastaic bone cancer. I have watched way to many people with different kinds of cancer( 9 in total)
be sick and some have died over the past 5 1/2 years. I sure could use her words of encouragement now. Love and miss you Heather!!!!

This should bring us back to square 1. There are so many more things in life we can't control & for her to stay strong, vibrant & pleasant is amazing. Yet, on here all we hear is junk, crap, thugs, mean nasty people, animals with no regard for life, etc.

Heather is an amazing person!! I have been doing self exams for a few years (I am 21 now, started at 18), my mother is a survivor, and I found a lump in July. Thanking God, it was not a concern. As I was waiting for my test results, I kept Heather in my mind, remembering that she was such a strong and brave individual. Support for this disease is everywhere, along with people who have been affected. It's a beautiful, heart breaking thing to see so many people who can stand up and say "My life has been affected by breast cancer". Heather is the reason people aren't afraid to speak out.

i used to watch HEATHER and CHUCK every morning while waiting for grandcchildren to come. i just can.t get back to watching the morning news yet. MY FAMILY HAS A HISTORY OF BREAST CANCER, so i have my daughters check every month. MISSS YOU HEATHER
