One thing to keep in mind with alot of cancers actually is exactly WHAT the statistics show.
First most medical statistic come from those who have had insurance to pay for somekind of care or consistent care. That means the 40 Million plus uninsured patients are not included in the statistics-every year. Some years that data pool might change as well ie uninsured now insured and insured now uninsured which affects treatment.
Second is that mankind in the current human form is what-about 15,000 years old? Any sort of anything closing resembling a medical statistic has been kept how long?- a few hundred years. For the most part I would gather most statistics gathered are less than a hundred years old only including a few generations of the same gene pool.
Third, the bulk of the statistics are from several generations of patients that have been exposed to the largest number of toxins and/or extreme enviormental conditions. If a 60 year old gets cancer now you must remember their childhood was during the cold war and an era of sloppy nuclear bomb testing meaning a large chunk of the population was exposed to artificially created radiation including the bomb testing along with things like older ways of taking and using X-Rays. You must remember that there was also alot of covert testing of certain population areas with various chemicals. Do you think the governments of Russia and the U.S. would ever really admit to the levels of radiation the population was exposed to during the 50s and 60s in particular. Look at the use of nuclear power. Now it's ALOT safer and people are more knowledgable but again do think government regulators told the public about every leak or flawed safety procedure again in the 50s and 60s.
Also it wasn't until the 1970s that alot of pollution concerns were actually addressed meaning if you were born or parents were born before the 1960s they were exposed to alot more toxins than people are know. I remember watching old timers do oil changes just dumping the used in nearby sewer or on the ground in the dirt. There are still many uninformed or ignorant people that illegally dump pollutants today.
What does all this mean. It means that things like statistics and/or "family history of" might not mean that the family genes are defective but rather the family genes or older relatives were exposed to alot more toxins known to cause various cancers along with weakening the body and exposing them to even more.
So are genetic testing and statistics reflecting the genes or periods of time in a family gene pool?
