Songwriter-turned-robber faces the music - and gets 33-year sen...

For almost 20 years, Frank E. Solesbee Jr. was a moderately successful songwriter in Nashville, penning tunes for country singers like Clay Walker and John Michael Montgomery.

I am absolutely stunned. I met Frank in 1985 in Richmond, Virginia. I became very good friends with him and his wife. Frank was enjoying quite a bit of success with his band. With all the talent Frank possesses, I can't comprehend why this all happened. It appeared he was doing so well with his songwriting and performing. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family, particularly his children.

I'm not at all surprised, I knew him from chester,va during the 80's and knew his wife and band members he was the biggest pervert and creep I had ever met, I knew eventually he was giong to end up in jail.

David, I spent some time in chesapeake jail w/ your dad. He made a big impression on me and I too believe he is a good man and just made a bad mistake. Unfortunately, the law is less forgiving than GOD and some people. I've tried to stay in touch w/ your dad but he didn't write me back. Now he's not at the chesapeake jail anymore. I'm studying law (paralegal) and I would like to offer any assistance I can (ie. legal research and/or referance material) and just be supportive, because I believe he didn't get good representation or a fair shake. Keep the faith, there are many "post conviction remedies" to help your dad! And remember: Romans 8:28, " All things work for the good of those who love HIM and have been called acording to HIS purpose." ALL THINGS!!! I grew up with Frank. To some extent, he is a great guy who did some bad things. We all do bad things, we just dont always get caught or end up in jail.On the other hand, he was a little "touchy feely" with all the girls in school. He is a brillant songwriter and drummer. Thomas, I am a paralegal who has followed this case and discussed with other lawyers. Sadly, there is not much that can be done at this point and time.

it is going to about 2 years.. and there is not a day that goes by that i don't think what happen. i went and seen my Dad in Nov and he was doing well .. an i do believe that i will be able one day to see my dad and spent time with him....

WOW..... I was his sound man back in the day before he moved to Nashville. Hate to hear it, but Frank was a good guy when I knew him. We shared hotel rooms many times when touring the Mid Atlantic. I pray he survives and gets his act back together. He's an incredibley talented person. I just found this out today !!!:(
