I started using Topamax several months ago for weight loss and migraines. My migraines are much better than they were, but I have not lost any weight at all. My doctor has increased my dosage to 75mg/day. I am so disappointed that I have not lost any weight at all. It hasn't decreased my appetite.

I'm glad I have read some of your posts because I have experienced some of the same side effects. I have been having memory loss and brain fog. I was just chaulking it up to old age lol, even though I'm only 43. I also have a lot of numbness in my hands and feet. I was wondering why my circulation was so bad.

I'm glad a lot of you are having good results with it and I'm just going to keep hoping for some weight loss. I am very thankful for the relief from the headaches. If any of you have migraines, you should try Topamax. I'm going to see if my doctor will put my daughter on it for hers.

I started taking Topamax 7 years ago at a dosage of 50mg twice a day. I lost 60 lbs in the first 3 months and have kept it off all these years. I do however still have memory loss and brain fog...guess that's why they call it stupimax. I also had the numbness in my hands and feet when I first started taking it(actually more like pins and needles), but it went away after a few months. Before Topamax, I would get excrutiating migraines weekly that would last 3 to 4 days at a time and now I only get one a month and the intensity is much more bareable than before.

I've been on it for 2 months so far and the only thing I've experienced is the tingling in my feet. I have lost weight. Not sure yet how much. I'm using it for migraines and have noticed a marked difference. I've gone from 3 migraines a week to 2 a month maybe. My dosage is 25 mgs twice a day.

Been on lamictin (lamictal) 200 mg for many years for severe bipolar. Tried various other meds to supplement this but nothing works. Recently took lithuim. Thought i was going to die - side-effects just too much (could be because of the impact on my hypothyroid). I have now been on topomax - 25mg at night for first week and now 25 in morning and 25 at night. I feel sick tbe whe time. Body aches and headaches - similar to flu symptoms. Are these passing side effects? Is it normal. I have not lost any weight. I am lethargic and tired but can't sleep. I also battle to breathe - feels like like there is water iny lungs. Is this normal on topomax?

I started taking generic topamax about 2 1/2 years ago for headaches/migraines. It was, at the time, a miracle drug for me. I completely stopped having migraines unless I accidentally consumed MSG, but the migraine would be bearable. It made me quit drinking, I slept so well at night, and I was much calmer.
I did loose alot of weight I couldn't afford to loose. I had no problem with carbonated drinks (but I never drink soda anyway). After maybe 6-12 months I started really losing weight. I would eat a ton to try and fix this when I could, but it made no difference(lots of protein made me lose weight badly). At almost 5'4 I went from 125 to about 97-100lbs.I did loose hair, but its so thick you couldn't tell. The brain fog went away completely after 1 1/2 years if I had to guess.
I had to wean off when I found out I was pregnant and I developed horrible vertigo, can't sleep anymore, mood is out of control and I can't stop eating, even if I'm not hungry. Not to mention unbelievable headaches/migraines that are worse than they've ever been. After the baby is born, I'm getting back on it.

Kami,
Since you were on the medicine when you concieved, does the doctor fear there may be issues with your baby or pregnancy?

Yeah I would Say away from Topamax the side effects are to much and can mess with your health big time! I prefer Raspberry Ketone Max Its safer, Cleaner, and actually helps you to lose weight fast in 3 months or less. http://fitnessluv.com/how-to-lose-50-pounds-i... Explains alittle bit more about it. If you want to keep doing Topamax by all means keep at it but if you love your health i would stay away from it.

The whold this make me a little wary. I have heard to many bad things. I think I am going to keep it O'natural hahaha, Like Antoine said with the keytones, although Garcinia cambogia worked way better for me. I still take the keytones.

This how I`ve tried some time ago is pure green coffee bean extract, I am 186 cm tall but I was obese for last 10-11 years when I start my first job in corporation, you know night eating, not to much excersizes etc, I`ve tried many diets before, even excersizes I realy HATE - no effeects. Until my aunt advised me this http://pure-green-coffee-bean-extract.com I was very sceptical as always when I hear about something like that but he gave me a bottle and I started to taking that, after first month I`ve lost 5 kilos, for next 5 months over 20. I know it`s mayme not something really impressive but I`ve tried lose that since 10 years before at no efects and I`ve just done it with "pills" , very funny how it works but I think it`s worth to try if anything else doesn`t work.

Plexus slim is great product line that incorporates a mixture of many natural ingredients, some which have been mentioned here. I use their products along with 25 mg topamax and have done very well . But its important to note: everyone is different and what works for me may not for you. I was looking into bariatric surgery but finally found something that works after spending lots of $$$$ and being very disappointed. Do research and even talk with more than 1 doctor before taking anything. We get only one body/life..... I'm 47 and doing my best to take better care of mine!:)
