Every time I receive a treatment, I have a better grasp of what to expect. Dealing with it upfront sometimes minimizes the effects.

I would tell Amy that losing one's hair for a while is worth it to get to live the rest of your life. I would urge her to keep a sense of perspective. No one ever guaranteed us that we won't get sick. We aren't guaranteed that we won't get very sick, and we aren't guaranteed that significant sickness will stay away until we're 90. In fact, it will be just as unwelcome then.
It's only been in the past 75 years or so that people expected to be pretty certain of living into what we now think of as old age. I know the treatment is hard. I've been through it. But I'm on the other side now, and breast cancer has also brought blessings to me.
I didn't like losing my hair. I bought a becoming wig and no one really thought anything of it.
