Yvan, I would be very interested in any advise you might have to help avoid mistakes with "gosculptura" surgeries. I have sent a deposit for "6 areas liposuction" scheduled for November 2008. I've never done anything like this so any inside information would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance, Brenda

Hi all -
While it is possible to have access to the same quality plastic surgery procedures as in the USA but at savings reaching 70%(example: tummy tuck + complete body lipo around us $5995, including Food and Hotel), there are a few key mistakes to avoid when planning a surgery abroad.
Folks: a plastic surgery abroad is not for everyone and is a serious undertaking. It is not really a vacation...
I have been working for many years as lead patient care manager for a big medical tourism company organizing plastic surgery in argentina ... and have dealt with hundreds of patients. I wish to inform and caution readers of this forum on the key mistakes to avoid (i have seen patients make many mistakes when planning their plastic surgery in argentina)
on top of my list:
1- what should you do to ensure your safety on medical trips?
2- what are the key mistakes to avoid when having a surgery abroad?
3 - what happens really when you have a surgery abroad?
4 - what are the most critical questions you must ask your surgeon before you
even leave your country to ensure an orderly process?
5 - what general questions must you ask in the pre-operative phase?
6 - how can you avoid surgeon communication mistakes especially when not
having a face to face consultation until you fly to your destination?
As I said, I worked with hundreds of different patients and saw mistakes as patients planned their plastic surgery in argentina .... I just wish to share them here.
Before I invest a lot of my time in this, is anyone here interested in initiating a discussion and debating on these topics?
I believe that this would be informative to all and help the community make wiser decisions…
best -

I would like to share my experience with all of you. I did Rinoplasty, Lipo and Breast Implant in Bogota-Colombia in a Clinic Call CORPO PERFEITO , I was surprised how good their service is and how unique are there treatment with International patients, I felt like home and also the results are very good. I definetelly reccommend. Also the price is not even close to what I would pay here in the USA.
This is the owner posting. I saw this Clinic on other pages and forums. They charge 5-6 times what Colombians pay for the same service. Go directly to the doctors.

I am sure you have read the recent press on how Acupuncture helps women recover from breast cancer surgery. My husband who is an Acupuncturist has developed a product for home use to help women enlarge their breast safely or recover faster from breast surgery utilizing Acupuncture point stimulation.

AcuAids designed by a Physician and Acupuncturist Dr. William Schneider D.C., FIAMA, Dipl.Ac. AcuAids is a way of doing Acupuncture without needles, incorporated with Neuroprogramming and Hypnosis. The system includes an instructional DVD, CD a reference card and enough AcuAids magnetic patches for one month, a complete program.

Dr. Schneider has had great success using the product in his Holistic Health center.

The product is currently retailing for $39.99. You can see more of our product line at . You can email me at [email protected]

Actually I haven't heard anything but claims about hot flashes, which is only a problem for a specific number of women -- and it has nothing to do with the surgery. And I can't imagine recovering from it faster than I did, without acupuncture.

I'm sorry, but it's just disgusting that you would advertise here.

I have read alot of the posts here and I agree and disagree with many things read. I happen to be someone who has had many cosmetic surgeries. I have done 5 procedures here in the USA and 2 In South America Colombia. My experience has been in the USA I have definitely had good treatment but I was not always satisfied with my results. Not that the US Surgeons did a poor job but when you get up the nerve to get surgery you want to see results and what I noticed was when I had lipo here in the states 2 times I went back to work and of course my co workers that knew I had surgery new but the other co coworkers said you look a little different or something is different about you. Then I went for a butt implant surgery in the USA and over all I was completely dissatisfied with the results. It did not live up to my expectations. Then I had a face lift here in the US with Dr Man in Boca and the results were very good but at a price of 22,000 dollars. I then had a friend who had had surgery in South America and I was so impressed with her results. I took her recommendation of a company to use there Cosmetic Harmony I went first for a liposuction there. When I returned back here to the states I had experienced something completely different. All of my coworkers that did not know where I went were like wow you look amazing you look so young you look so skinny. I was very shocked as I did not realize it was that much more noticeable. I asked a friend of mine who worked in a cosmetic surgery office in the US and she said that was because South American Doctors are used to working on people that want to see results. What a South American perceives as beauty is not what the US people perceive and she said what she meant was they want perfection and will settle for nothing less and in the US they simply just want to look better. I have to say if I am going for surgery I want perfection and not just to look better. After that I decided to go back to Cosmetic Harmony and get my butt implants taken out and get a Brazilian butt lift. I have to say by far the best surgery decision I ever made. I got those ridiculous implants out of my butt and had the fat transferred from my sides, flanks and back to my but. The results were amazing I have the best butt even now. So here is my analysis of what everyone is talking about. Being a person who has had surgery in both the US and outside. In South America due to the lower cost of surgery the surgeons have far more experience to there us counterparts simply because they perform more surgeries. In the US the cost of course is much more and I do see people here saying it is equal in the US. They are completely wrong and here is why. In the US yes the surgery price may be similar in some cases but you are comparing a no name doctor here to a top notch surgeon in South America. So apples to apples it is not the same. Then you have the cost here in the us which they never tell you there are all these extra fees. girdles, anesthesiologist, medicine, bandages blah blah blah basically in the end you will 1000000% pay at least 40-70% more here in the US and you certainly will not have a top notch surgeon work on you here in the US. However if you truly compare apples to apples you will pay double if not triple here in the US for the equivalent down in South America. Those are my thoughts and I hope it helps someone you make your decisions

I did my cosmetic surgery in Colombia as well with Cosmetic Harmony 3 years ago, I went through so many chat rooms, forums, looking for a good place abroad and someone like you wrote a nice report about surgery in Colombia, so I did the research and end up with Cosmetic Harmony. I'm very happy with my results. I'm sure their is plenty of places in Colombia for surgery, but do your research before adventuring abroad for surgery. it is so worth it IF YOU DO THE RESEARCH.

Hello Monique,

I had my plastic surgery done in Colombia with GoSculptura. All I can say is that I made the right choice. There are a lot of available packages out there but I chose GoSculptura. Their service was great and the package was very convenient for me. I didn't have to worry for other stuffs (hotel, etc) aside from my surgery. I was well-taken cared of even after the surgery.

I wish you good luck for your surgery.:D
