Welcome to the Land of the Free, Home of the Brave! This is an excellent example of the kind of abuse that big businesses and their employees carry out with too much frequency in our society today. There was a time in America when the consumers' rights were respected by the business they supported but, what with the scumbags and indecent under-educated slobs that form the managerial core of entities like Walmart, the customer is treated with disdain as if these wankers are doing us a favor. Unfortunately, this travesty finds its roots in the government's treatment of citizens at airports, etc., which in turn trickles down to private enterprise. This is intolerable and the American public can no longer turn a blind eye to these practices which violate our basic rights as citizens and consumers.

“kind of rolled her eyes at me and kind of snapped her fingers”??? Look, I really hate Wal-Mart and was hoping this story would be another reason to not shop there... BUT... I have to agree with Working American. If you came to my liquor store with ID that looked like someone else I'd scrutinize over it too. Then if you pulled down your shirt and showed me a scar I would think you were 100% crazy and probably not sell to you. I'm sorry you had cancer... my mother-in-law had breast cancer... but if your look is dramatically different than it is now you have to expect to be questioned. It is entirely possible that she was just hyper-sensitive and imagined that they “kind of rolled her eyes at me and kind of snapped her fingers”.

It was bad that she was humiliated; but, there is no argument that her poor judgement created this scenario. Why on earth would you "return" an item to the store without proof of purchase? That has to be up there on the list of incredibly dumb things not to do. What's to stop anyone from just waltzing into any store with a bag full of items that they'd like to "return" for cash? People are clearly letting their feelings over the label, "cancer survivor", distract them from the fact that she created this dramatic scene because she tried to make out of Walmart like a ghetto ass bandit. Not all cancer patients lack dignity; my mother lost her long battle with cancer a year ago; she, was never as dimwitted as this lady.
