Go Dugan! The stories of survivors are always inspiring. We are very fortunate to have The James Cancer Center here in Central Ohio. The people working there perform medical magic every day! Thanks to all of the people at The James who saved Dugan's life (they saved mine too).

What a brave kid...and family! I am so happy that technology allows us to perform amazing surgeries like this one, where a kid can still live the life he wishes to live.

You sick Freak, why did you have to show up and post something so negative about a great story of overcoming the odds? Sounds like God could get those two things you mentioned above just from keeping an eye on you.

Great job Dugan, keep movin ahead buddy.

What an inappropriate and completely unrelated post for a story focusing on a young man's determination. Clearly you are only concerned about your own personal issues than in applauding the success of someone who's overcome. You do know this young man and his friends are reading these comments, right? I'm sure you do. How sad for you.
A fine example for other youth and for those encountering a challenge in their lives. Best wishes, Dugan! Hope to see you on the mound and court in high school.

Dugan, you're a brave young man and a new hero of mine. You've been through so much already that everthing else should be easy. I'm confident you'll do well in all. Just remember that the simple fact you played the game makes you a winner regardless of the outcome.

This brought tears to my eyes and lifted my heart to see this gorgeous young man 'tackling' this head on! His parents have a lot to be proud of in their son. Well done, Dugan!

I just fell down the steps and landed on my knees. I hurt all over, but then I am 71 years old. Then I sat down at my computer and read about This brave young man ! Shame on me for feeling sorry for myself.I haven't read such an inspiring storey in a long time. Thanks to the Dispatch for reminding us all what true courage is !! Good luck young man...but somehow, I don't think you are going to need it. You've got guts !!
