Empty Wallets

In the midst of the debt crisis in Washington, D.C., Danny Hartzell backed a Budget rental truck up to a no-frills apartment building that is on a strip of motels and pawnshops in Tampa, Florida.

He had been laid off by a packaging plant during the financial crisis of 2008, had run through his unemployment benefits, and had then taken a part-time job stocking shelves at Target in the middle of the night, for $8.50 an hour. His daughter had developed bone cancer, and he was desperate to make money, but his hours soon dwindled to four or five a week...

It's hard for me to even read stories like this. Just yesterday it was announced that Cisco is laying off 4,000 people, many of them right here in Atlanta. Borders Books is calling it quits - another nearly 11,000 jobs.

It's interesting to note that Cisco CEO John Chambers made 40.2 million dollars last year. Gary Moore, the COO, made 38 million. Show me where two men in a company should earn the salaries of hundreds of workers? That is insane.

I'm not saying a company should keep people it doesn't need, but let's face it. These CEO's are looking for more and more ways to eliminate those beneath them in order to maintain and add to their own gluttony.

This is what we've been brought to.
I doubt that any of the wacko tea-baggers or lying neo-conservatives will either read this article, or care.

They are locked into their cultist insanity like kamikaze drivers.

Oh that's nothing because Rick Scott gave himself a 300 million dollar golden parachute after his company was destroyed due to medicaire fraud and many lost their jobs.

However as a tea party republican I see nothing wrong with any of this.

Ross Perot warned us about this years ago but I no longer consider Perot a republican because his ideas contradict much of the Tea party ideology.

You see nothing wrong with it until it happens to YOU and it is YOU and YOUR family doing without. Keep telling yourself THAT'S the American way.
