Hello,

My pharmacy just sprung Syeda on me as the generic to Yasmin. I had tried out Ocella in the past and had VERY bad side effects and switched right back to Yasmin. Has anyone used Syeda? I know it's relatively new so I can't find anything while searching the internet.

I got randomly switched to Syeda after being on Yasmin for 8 FANTASTIC years, and even though its supposed to be "the same" as Yasmin, i've found myself irritable, moody, and having food cravings. My doctor switched me over to BeYaz, which I requested for the folate. One more weeek of this "Syeda" and i'm done!

I am on the second week of Syeda, I was also switched by my pharmacist. I was previously on Zarah, generic Yasmin. I had not one issue with that med. But with this generic form I am irritable, have an insane appetite increase and the past few days I have been extremely fatigued. I would advise against this generic form. Does anyone not have an issue with another generic form of Yasmin?

I am FINALLY on my last week of this roller coaster pill - not sure why the pharmacist took it upon themselves to switch w/o asking first and I should have known better. Constant food cravings, irritable, swollen/sore breasts and tired - don't I sound like a barrel of laughs?!

I was on Yasmin for the last 4 yrs, and missed this past month (I wasn't able to get my refill quick enough for next cycle). Anyway, I received Syeda instead of Yasmin. I'm at day 8 and I've noticed that I'm less "patient" with others and have felt drained the last few days. After reading your comments, I'm also wondering how much of this is due to Syeda? And I still have 2 more weeks of it!

I've been on Yasmin for 9 years and my insurance company decided it wants me on the generic pill Syeda. I have broken out like crazy with acne on my face now in the past few weeks! Has this happened to anyone else? I'm wondering if my body just has to get used to it or if I'm just reacting to some ingredient in this pill and it will never go away. I don't want to live with acne forever thanks to a generic pill. I'm going to give it a few more weeks and see what happens.

My pharmacist, as well, took it upon themselves to switch me from Zarah to Syeda. This month I have seem tired but thought it was due to me being sick. Two days before my period started I was EXTREMELY sensitive to everything. Then the day my period started I had an emotional breakdown (which is unlike me) and a massive migraine! Keep taking what you are taking...don't let the pharmacist switch the medicine!

After being on yasmin the past 10 years, I too was just switched to syeda. I just started it this past Sunday and have had breakthrough bleeding every day since! Wondering if anyone else has had this problem too?

I just switched from Yasmin to Syeda. My insurance wouldn't cover the Yasmin. My doctor claims there is no difference. I have had break through bleeding for a the first two weeks and wonder if it will ever stop. I never had this problem before.

My pharmacy has also switched my pill from Yasmin to Sayeda and I have been absolutely irritable and just plain mean with everyone including my fiance and co workers. I had to look online to see if Sayeda may be the cause and now that I found these comments, it very well may be an effect of this pill. I don't want to be impatient, negative, and extremely angry anymore :-(

I was originally on ortho-cyclin low and got switched to Syeda because the other apparently raised my blood pressure. So far I've been on this pill for a little over two weeks and I have absolutely no complaints about it. I haven't had any appetite increases or even been moody or irritable then what I normally am. However, I'm just starting this and I haven't been on anything because I was pregnant previous to starting this new pack.

I'm so glad I found this, I'm having all of the same problems with Syeda! I couldn't figure out why I was so tired all the time and extremely irritable. Did you have any luck with switching back to Yasmin?

I also had been using Yasmin for 6 fantastic years -- never experienced a single side effect! When I moved to Boston a few months ago, the pharmacy started filling my prescription with Syeda and I have been feeling absolutely miserable on the first day of my cycle. Full blown migraine, nausea, extreme fatigue -- very abnormal. I'm so glad to see that others have been having similar issues and now I know I can talk to my doctor with a little more information.

I was on Yazmin for the last 2 years for fibroids and heavy bleeding, and had no complaints. My periods were lighter, and the pill actually decreased my appetite. All of a sudden my insurance pulled the old "generic switcheroo" on me last month to Syeda, and I have never experienced so many side effects. On the 2nd day of my period last month while at work I starting hemmoraging heavily out of nowhere, and passing clots literally the size of golf balls! I was horrified and scared as hell! I went through like 1 maximum absorbency tampon every 45 mins or so for like 5 hours straight! My periods have NEVER been this heavy, even when on no birth control. I figured maybe last month was just a result of my body adjusting to the new generic meds, but I just got my period for this month, and pretty much the same thing happened again, except now I'm LATE a day, horrendously bitchy, nauseous, and having terrible cramps on top of the heavy bleeding and clotting! I am calling my doctor ASAP tomorrow morning, and my insurance to see if I can request an override or something! Syeda is horrible, and I refuse to go through another month of this torture! I have to get off this crap!

Wow...so glad I found this! At least I am not crazy. I have been switched from Ocella to Syeda by the pharmacy and I have been so irritable/emotional that I went to a doctor looking into some sort of depression/anxiety solution. I am also tired all the time with little energy. After reading this I called my gyne and asked them to call the pharmacy and switch me back to Ocella to try and rule out the problem!

im taking Syeda now , i thought i was sick cause i have a sinus infection & ive felt nauseous, but ive come to the conclusion that its the birth control . i havent been on birth control for years & decided it was time to get back on since i didnt have periods for along time. i was on Yasmin before and they were trying to charge me 90$ for 1 months supply of Yasmin so i asked for the generic brand and they gave me Syeda , so since ive been on Syeda which is about a week today ive been feeling nauseus for the last 3 days and my stomach feels full all the time & has a sick feeling . also noticed i was irritable once i read the other posts on here . got to get my bc changed asap !

My pharmacy switched me to syeda too....i had been on ocella and yasmin and had absolutely no side effects or problems with it what so ever, This is my second month on syeda and let me tell you both months on the first day of the second week my stomach is upset, im exhausted, i have a headache...its miserable. I dont recommend this pill to ANYONE. It has made me so sick. I plan on paying the higher copay for the yasmin because this is just terrible.

Thank you all for posting this. I was also switched by my pharmacy fro Ocella to Syeda. I am halfway through my first month and I have spotting, headaches and I am super moody. I was wondering if it was the pill switch and thanks to these posts I know that it must be. I am going to call my doctor/pharmacy tomorrow. This will be my first and last month on Sydea! Thanks everyone for sharing.

I also have recently been switched to Syeda from Yasmin. I was on Yasmin for 7 years and never experiences any side effects. I go through really severe cramping the first few days of my period and Yasmin took care of that. Now that I have been on Syeda I have instantly broke out in a rash that is slowly spreading. After talking to my insurance it is clear that I am not going to be able to afford my regular Yasim brand. What do I do ????
