Amoxicillin and Birth control

hi just wondering if you can help me, ive just been given a 5 day course of amoxicilling from the dentist and was wondering if it will affect my implanon from working and also is it ok to drink on these or not? x

There seems to be a lot of talk about pulling out on this page, and I thought maybe someone should tell the good handful of people who seem to think it makes a huge difference that pulling out is not a sure thing. there have been stories of women getting pregnant when he never even penetrated, but in the case of "pulling out" what some people don't realize is that the risk of pregnancy isn't condensed into the moment of sexual climax.

i was on a 10-day prescription of amoxicillin for strep throat.(4 pills daily, for 10 days) i have been on birth control very strictly (every day at the exact same time) for over 2 years now. just days after the end of my 10-day prescription my boyfriend and i had sex without a condom .. he did pull out. but ... i have horrible horrible anxiety, should i be scared about pregnancy? what are my chances?

Also, there really is no why to determine how your body personally will react to a combination of birth control and antibiotics. Although it is generally agreed that antibiotics can lower the effectiveness of birth controls, the percentage of difference made varies from person to person. Most research agrees that the differences can be anywhere for 1 percent to a serious risk depending on the physiological make up of the person in question. There really isn't much way of knowing exactly where you fall in these statistics till you actually get to the moment of truth in fin ding out if you actually are pregnant.

i was on amoxicillin for a few years for my acne. taking oral medication twice a day. it worked very well. i stopped taking the amoxicillin and went on yaz, hoping birth control would clear up my face and regulate my period. i want to get back on amoxicillin. fully aware that amoxicillin can possibly decrease the effectiveness of birth control... does that mean it will make my period irregular?

I've been on the pill(yasmin)for quite some years now. I've taken amoxicillin during my period, and I stopped taking the amoxicillin on the 2nd day of my new pack. Its now 6 days later and I had sex with my boyfriend. He used a condom, but some sperm leaked. Could I get pregnant? I mean, I shouldnt be ovulating, even if my pill's effect would've been reduced right?

Alright, So I was in about the same situation as everyone. I was on amoxicillin for strep throat and had been taking it for the duration of a week - the same week I started a new pack of BC. Well, my boyfriend isn't a fan of condoms, and decided to take it off. He pulled out and I generally wouldn't be too concerned about being pregnant as I was on BC. Well, I went and got plan B, also known as the "morning after pill". I'm going to take it soon as it hasn't even been 24 hours since the incident. My mother is also a nurse, and she said that, although there is a warning label on the antibiotic about altering the effectiveness of the BCP, I shouldn't be worried. Alas, I think spending $40 on the morning after pill to basically ensure there is no pregnancy would be best!

i have been on the pill for a year now. i was taking amoxicillin 4 times a day for 6 days before i read the that it said it interferes with the pill. i was also taking the pill the whole time. i stopped taking it monday night, and had unprotected sex tuesday night. would that still interfere with the pill badly? i'm just scared that it did. please give opinion on weather you think there's a good chance i'm pregnant or not.

I have been on amoxicillin for 3 days now, I'm on my third week of birth control, and my husband and I have had sex with in those 3 days, not using anything. Should I be worried? Well, lets say "hopeful" instead.

I have just finished my first months supply of my pill (Microgynon30) and am on my one week break and should have been due my fake period 2-3days ago. I have been to the doctors for a chest infection and have been given amoxicilin and have not started my period. I am really starting to get worried now as i have taken my pill as instructed and have only had sex once on my second week on it.
Is it normal for me to not have a fake period the first month i'm on it?
