hi there!
i recently started tri cyclen lo. it's my first time being on the pill. i used a sunday start, and took pills religiously every day at 8am. on saturday morning, i took my 7th and final white-colored pill. if i had unprotected sex that same afternoon, should i be concerned? i figure i have 7 pills in me, and the protection should have kicked in by that point, but... i'm having doubts.
help!:(

Ashley, yes it does increase your breast size in some women I was already pushing DD when I was taking it before and when I stopped taking the pill I was getting a little smaller and now I am taking it again which I just started yesterday. I am not ready for them to grow again! My back is already having problems and bras just cost too much for me to be changing all the time! Good luck I hope you don't have this problem!!!

I'm on my second week of otc lo. and it's great! i didn't have any acne, except for one pimple. I feel very little nauseousness within 15 min. of taking the pill, but it's pretty much nothing. The worse part is that i've been spotting for a week now. Otherwise, i love this pill! No bad side effects for me at all.

I'm about to begin OTL. I asked for birth control for the purpose of controlling major mood swings and acne. This is what the doctor first prescribed, so I'm hoping he's had success with it controlling those things. I'm concerned with weight gain also, but wouldn't mind the cup size increase! I'll be back once I've taken it to share side effects. and kek, I workout too, so I'll let you know how it makes me feel.

I have been on OTC Lo for just over a year. Initially everything seemed fine, no side effects other than fuller breasts which was positive for me. Now I find I am alot more irritable and have bad mood swings. I also have a lot less interest in sex which I'm hating and is also frustrating my boyfriend.

Does any have suggestions on what I can do...is there another pill that would maybe be better, or if there are suggestions on non-hormonal. Been thinking of looking into the IUD. Any comments are appreciated.

I am going to go with the non hormonal copper IUD for the same reason as low sex drive, along with other problems that hormones give me. I did as much research as I could and I can't come up with any other solutions. I go for insertion on Oct 10th.

I'm 22 now, but have been on BC since 16. I started Ortho Tri Cyclene at 16 to combat horrible, horrible cramps that were so bad I would miss days of school. They worked on the cramps, and made my period lighter and shorter. Then I went on the Patch, which was a disaster. The patches kept getting attached to underwear and ripping off. When I would take them off after three weeks, I would have a horrible patch sized rash on my body for weeks. After that I started Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo, which I'm still on. I like it a lot. My periods are only three days long, and I know exactly when they'll start. I don't think I gained any weight, but I have had kind of bad skin since I was around 12 and i still do. My breakouts are bad a couple days before I get my period, and my skin is the clearest right during and right after my period. last time I was at the gyno I asked her about other options and she said she likes OTC-Lo the best out of all hormonal birth control. I think I'll stay on OTC-Lo until i'm actively trying to get pregnant.

I've been on Ortho Tri Cyclene Lo for a little over 2 years now. I've been irritated with it for about the past year - realizing I've gained weight (never had weight gain issues before). I also have basically no sex drive, which is really frustrating for me and my husband! I do love how it has greatly helped my periods which are now shorter. I also have about 1/2 as much bleeeding and cramping. Personally, I'm looking for an alternative birth control. Anyone know anything about Mirena?

I have been on Ortho-LO for 6 months and thought the whole time my 10 lb weight gain was natural. However, I stopped taking it only 2 weeks ago and I am suddenly down 5 lbs. I eat the same and nothing else has changed. Just a heads up, you will gain wieght.
Amy this is good to hear. I switched from OTC to Lo about 4 months ago and am experiencing weight gain, but was unsure it was due to the switch. I work out more now than before and have put on 10lbs, and am bloated in my mid section. I am going to discuss switching back to OTC. I'm glad to see you were able to drop 5 lbs once you went off of it. any other comments are appreciated regarding effects after getting off of this nasty pill. thanks

I recently stopped ortho tri cyclen lo after taking it for 10 months to regulate my period. I had gotten very sick and stopped taking it during this time. I tried starting it again and became very nauseous, unable to handle it and stopped it again after just a few days. I don't know if I'm going crazy or is it my hormones, but I'm weeping one minute for no reason, and perfectly normal the next. Any one been through this?
