Hi my name is jennifer, I am 18 yrs old. I have been taking Yaz for right at 2yrs now. I stopped taking it about 9mnths ago Due to weird Side effects. Eating all the time, Mood swings, didn't help with acne... Just different things. Now that I'm off of it it seems like my moods are better But now my periods are very irregular. 2mnths ago i started at the end of the month, Last month in the middle (2wks later then before) And now Ive started in the first of the month (2wks earlier then before)!!! If anyone has ANY Info on Yaz or it's harmful side effects, Or personal story's plz share. You can also Email me at [email protected] I am very anxious to get Info on this problem. Thanks for your time, Jennifer

with this comment i'm assuming you have not started another birth control pill.
now, because you have been off of yaz for so long i can pretty much assure you that it is not a side effect of the pill. assuming that you have not had any life changes such as added stress, no changes in diet or exercise, sometimes women's periods just change. that said, many women just have irregular periods, and your's could be that way. it could be that it is just showing up now because the remaining hormones from the pill finally left your system. so no need to be alarmed, unless you have had unprotected sex recently....then you should get to a doctor asap for a pregnancy test and full std screen.

I am a 44 year old woman and went to the doctors to get the mirena birth control. Learning that I suffer from frequent miagranes, he gave me yaz instead. The side effect were awful. Extreme fatige
weak limbs aching , cramping legs, joint pain, weight loss, shallow breathing, heaviness in my chest and depression. When I started having suicidal thoughts I thought, what is going on. I went through a severe depression for 12 years and was afraid of falling back in it. I began to wonder if the pill had anthing to do with it so I looked it up. Sure enough I learned that it did. At that time I had already started the second month. I thought it would be better to finish the month but I was so tired on this pill. I am normally very active ,running and extreme workouts. I have done zero training since I have been on this garbage. Fed up I stopped the pill a week into the second package. After 3 days the joint pain stopped,I am still tired but its getting better, I cant stop eating and worst of all I got a severe miagrane. The miagrane lasted for three days and has down graded to a bad headache. This head pain has been going on for a week straight and I am very concerned. I will be seeing a doctor tomorrow if I still have it. Oh ya, I almost forgot to mention the constant nausia. This pill is way to strong and not worth taking, way too many risks. I am also extremely upset that the doctor didn t even ask me if I had ever had depression before he gave the yaz pill too me. It is a very dark place to be and I finaly got myself healthy again. I just hope I start feeling better soon

I just went off yaz about 2 months ago. I had a normal period the first month and now I am late. I always had very irregular periods before yaz. I have had sex but used a condom and pulled out. I have taken 4 pregnancy test and they have all been negative. I'm still freaking out though

I don't really think that there are side effects when you stop using hormonal contraceptives. Although you might notice some changes because your body is adjusting to the loss of the hormones. I was reading several articles online and this one http://www.nuvaring-lawsuit.com/lawsuit-filed... about NuvaRing has really caught my attention.

My sister used yaz, she decided to switch nuvaring because she felt side effects like bloating, changes in appetite and more. After a month, she experience the same feeling and something weird during sexual intercourse. We've got to try to research regarding birth control and its side effects. I think it is important to gather information before using any types of birth control. For more information you can read http://www.rotlaw.com/nuvaring-blood-clots/

On and off yaz since 2009. Got off for good 6months ago. Acne, which I never had appeared just a month ago and isn't stopping. My period was okay the first 3 months of being Yaz free. Now, it's 2months already and still no period. Always tired during the day, headaches, weird appetite, moodswing, & weakness. I'm a little upset that back then nobody told me coming off was scarier than getting on yaz. My advise, don't take it. With the damages it caused my body, I really regret taking it. I just hope detox can tune my body back to normal. Hope this helps. Godbless us..

I was on Yaz for 2-3 years as i was reaching menopause and i went to my gynae for checkup and he recommended that i take Yaz. I stop about 6 months ago and the side effects are not good. My face broke out in acne which i do not have before and my knees and legs are weak and i experience stiffness and pain. My fingers also get stiff and numb and i regret taking Yaz. All this symptoms i never had before and i am feeling frustrated that it effects me now. I would strongly advise not to take pills but seek other vitamins or herbal remedy when reaching menopause.

I am currently on Yaz, and I have edema in my left foot and my liver enzymes were said to be escalated. I recently did some research and discovered that Yaz may be the direct cause of my conditions due to high levels of Oestrogen in my system..
I have now stopped taking Yaz its been two days, I need to know what can I expect?

I had the same situation, i started with Yaz about a month ago.. also on the first day of my period, then i decided to just finish the pack and dont continue with the pill, i also had terrible moodswings and appetite increases and changes.. i had my period for every day i took the pill.. and longer .. about 31 days then it stopped... i didn't talk to my doc before i decided to rather not use it anymore.. i've been having a bloated stomach, numbness in my legs, nausea and constipation...and a terrible headache.... i'm waiting to see whether my period cycle is back to normal or if i skip my period like some of the comments say...

So I have stopped YAZ after taking it for 2 years (cause time for a baby), just finished my period to start cramping and having another light period again (dark blood, gooey), with the worst PMS, borderline migraine and weirdly nightmares all night! On the upside I feel so much happier, I didn't realise how depressed and moody I was on the pill also I had no sex drive whatsoever, shame my poor hubby, lol.

PS - For the ladies starting YAZ, I also had a period for 2 weeks starting the pill, totally normal according to Gynae, will be back on track next month.

Hi! i have experienced the same thing when i started with Yaz, it's not actually blood all throughout but you will most likely bleed a little every now and then as it's effect. but that won't be for too long.

I am listening all these comments and thinking maybe I am totally different. I was on Yazz for about 12 years and I must say I felt great on it. No cramps, very light bleeding, no problem with weight, I actually was able to maintain same weight for 12 years. I stopped taking BC about 4-5 months ago and I must say it so soooo depressing. I have extreme cramps, very heave bleeding, bad PMS,can't control acne, and what's the worse I gained 17 lbs since then. I read in many forums that most of the time symptoms of you had any of these symptoms before taking BC they will come back, but I never had any of them, maybe beside minor acne. Is any one of you know how to control withdrawal symptoms???
I am getting self conscious already with my appearance and can't stand myself and my moods anymore. I actually thinking of going back on Yazz

YAZ was not introduced until 2006, you could not have been on it for more than 10 years ... unless you are a time-traveler from 2018.

I've been on Yaz for 5 years and decided to quit the pill about 3 weeks ago. I am now 23years old. I got a period about 4 days right after quitting that lasted for about 5 days. I have had a discharge which I thought may be ovulation beginning last week and my nipples have been sore and hard for the past 3 days. I've also been extremely tired and feeling moody and was quite constipated a few days ago. I have had sex once or twice since I've quitted the pill and now I'm not sure whether the sore nipples, fatigue and moodiness are side effects of quitting the pill or if they may be early pregnancy signs... I could take a test but I feel it may be too early to get accurate results. Has anyone had these side affects after quitting the pill before? If not, I'm guessing it may be pregnancy symptoms.... and then I'll probably have to wait another 2 weeks before taking a test to get accurate results.
