I have been on Seasonale for 2 years now and am going off it tomorrow! It helped a lot with my endometriosis pain and it was wonderful only having 4 light periods a year. I did have a lot of spotting (at first) and a thicker discharge, but I didn't have mood problems or gain weight. However, I had NO sex drive or interest in sex at all, as a young newlywed this was a huge problem. Other side effects I noticed were, dryness, painful intercourse, thick discharge the day after sex, and vaginitis. These sexual side effects seemed to get worse the longer I was on it. Although I had a lower sex drive, I didn't seem to have such severe sexual side effects when I was on Ortho tri-cyclen.

I have been on Seasonale for around a year I think. I have no problems with it and love only having 4 periods a year. I will soon be switching to generic because of insurance. I can only help my luck with that is as good as with the Seasonale. I will say though that I'm not "normal" I have amenorea. So without hormones I wouldn't have a period at all but I would then have all the effects of menopause.

I hated this stuff! I only lasted about 2 and a half months on this pill before I had had enough. I was very moody, unless I was eating I was so hungry I was nauseaus, severely constipated, dramatic increase in acne, 7 lbs weight gain, bloatedness, etc. I could go on and on about how bad this pill was. In fact, I had spotting and bleeding for two weeks at a time with painful cramps and I finally passed a blood clot that was two inches around! I was off that pill the next day.

I was on Seasonale for a few months, but stopped because of the severe mood swings I had with it. I think that all BC meds are going to cause certain people problems, so shop around. (When I stopped, we became immediately pregnant...lol)

I've been on Seasonale for almost 6 months now... I've been spotting since the 2nd week! It's ridiculous, but I'm staying on it because my doctor told me that it is normal to bleed for up to one year and if I stop my body will just start the whole process all over again. It is just really horrible having a light period EVERY day.

Question for TazDevil: Did you ever try the generic and if so, did it work okay? I also have amenorea and my dr. just switched me to Seasonale from another type of pill, but the drugstore gave me the generic, Jolessa. I've been reading a lot of negative things about it versus the name brand and was wondering what your experience was. Since we both have amenorea and need that hormone, I thought you might be the best one to ask. I hope you see this, as it is a pretty old thread!

I have been on Seasonale for 4 years. I spent hours last night reading posts online because of all the problems I have been having lately. I cannot believe I've lasted 4 years. I have been extremely moody, very emotional, experienced severe cramps, heavy periods that last 7 days during the "period" week, and a light to medium discharge on and off throughout the entire pack, especially for the last 9 months (or the last 3 packs). I feel disgusting. I cry at the drop of a hat and had just chalked it up to becoming extra sensitive even though I wasn't like this 4 years ago. I honestly feel contaminated. I have been on BC for 7 years and my doctor put me on Seasonale because I would get crippling cramps and no other pill that I tried seemed to alleviate the pain so we decided that at least it would be 4x a year instead of 12x a year. I am going on Yaz as soon as possible. I'd rather have a light period once a month than a heavy period along with breakthrough bleeding all the time.

I been on seasonale for the last four months. I started taking it so i could have less periods because my iron is low.Well i must say that for me it sucks. In may all was good than in june until july i bleed. Know who wants that, i called my doctor and he put my on horomone pills till i stopped. Well know i am bleeding again and they won't me to take 2 twice a day. I don't want to do that i am stopping today, know i don't know how heavy and long am going to go through this.
