I have been taking tri nessa for a year now and I dont know if its just me but it makes my stomic hurt every morning and when its time for my peroid its always 3 or 4 days late. I smoke too could that be the reason or am I just going crazy?

I am 20 years old.I have been taking Tri-Nessa for 3 months now. No weight gain yet. My nurse recommended this one for the control of my mild severe acne and it has not gotten better i wanted to go off it about 1 month and 1/2 half ago but she told me it ANY acne treatment will always get worse at the beginning she insisted that i waited longer, so I'm still taking them. I also get frequent headaches (someting that almost never happened before). No nausea though.

I personally have experienced the low sex drive, irritable moods, longer periods, weight gain, and bad cramps with Trinessa. I am only 24 years old, I'm VERY active as I am a personal trainer, and I do not feel I should be experiencing low energy or weight gain. No matter how long I exercise, I feel as though I retain water. Completely frustrating! I also missed oned pill 2 weeks prior to the "fake pills" and started my period. In the past while on other birth controls, I have missed one day and it has never caused me to start my period early. I plan to consult my doctor about switching.

I started using trinessa about 3 months ago for my irregular period. For the first week it was terrible because I had nausea and stomach aches but that is said to happen with every pill. I did gain alittle weight but other then that my face reallly cleared up and my period got shorter and lighter(: Im liking the pill so far

I started taking TriNessa when I was 18 (I am 22 now.)It was my first and only birth control I have been on and I am pleased with how my periods aren't as rough as they had been before I was taking birth control. My acne cleared up and I have little to no trouble at all with my skin nowadays.
My weight never went up, in fact I went from being close to 130lbs to 120lbs, and have stayed at that weight for over 3 years.
But aside from being happy with what TriNessa has done for my periods, skin and weight I have been bothered by its other side effects.
I was always pretty mellow before taking TriNessa, not easily upset or bothered by things but 3 years into taking this stuff and I feel irritable ALL THE TIME. And I also get really emotional about the simplest of things.
I have experienced the low sex drive, as other girls have mentioned, as well.
The thing that bothers me the most about TriNessa is whenever I take the beginning pills (white ones.)They are very strong and cause me to feel very bad. I sometimes wake up in the middle of the night in night sweats, feeling hot one moment and then shaking uncontrollably from feeling cold the next. My breathing will be very heavy and I feel as though I can't get any air. There have even been times where my vision would go in and out. This is always accompanied by intense cramps in my lower abdomen, lower back pain and frightening fits of dry vomiting.
I DO think that this is brought on by the fact that I take my pill at 9 every night, although my Dr. recommended taking them in the morning after eating breakfast. But my mornings are not very routine (I do not wake up at the same time every morning)so I wouldn't be consistent with taking the pill at the same time every day.
I need to work on moving the time I take my pill to maybe sometime in the evening, before dinner as another girl recommended.
All in all, I have been pretty happy with TriNessa but definitely have had some terrifying experiences while taking it. Every birth control works different for every woman, but I certainly would STAY AWAY from taking TriNessa before bed.

I've been on this pill trinessa for two months and have never felt so depressed, anxious or alone. I've been pushing everyone in my life away, I have no motivation, and keep picking fights with my boyfriend. I've thought about killing myself several times. I was so happy before and kept justifying stress and depression on things going on in my life but suicide and pushing people who love you away is not healthy. Please don't take this pill. I wish I never did.

I would never recommand that any woman take this medication because I am 28 years old and suffered a stroke from it. I was only on it for about 1 1/2 months before it happened. I have lost vision in my left eye and will probably not recover it. I DO NOT recommand any form of BC.
Im 20 years old they perscribed me trinessa after I had my son 6 months ago and last night was rushed to the ER with complete numbness in my left side. The doctor didnt say what exactly happened just an abnorality in my brain. But after reading more about strokes and the "serious" effects about trinessa I cant help but to think it may have been a stroke. It was horrible I go to the uroligest tomorrow to set up an MRI did they tell you immedietly that you had one or did they make you wait?

I've bee on trinessa for about 9 months and previously i was on orthrocyclen low but it didnt work since i had no periods. I was diagnosed with PCOS and prescribed trinessa for that as well as for my periods to get regular. In the past 4 months I ve noticed that I'm gaining weight even though I eat healthy and exercise. I have an active job and a 3year old so Im in a constant movement. Aside from gaining weight (10lbs) I am veeeeeery moody, angry for no reason, and have no patience. I want to cry about everything and have no sex drive. My acne is still there and doesnt get better. I've been very emotional and extremely depressed, mostly about the weight gain. For the past two months my periods have been irregular and had very little bleeding. I'm assuming the pill doesnt work on me anymore and cant wait for the appointment with my doctor.

I've been taking trinessa for a week and a half. I've had stomach cramps for about three days and at first, I thought it was either gas or constipation, then I started looking into all of the side effects of this pill and i'm shocked. My cramping has to be from the pill, I've never experienced it until now. I also have zits broken out on my chin line, which I read has happened to some of the previous posters on here. Before I'd have a random zit here and there, mainly located on my forehead. All these signs/side effects and I didn't put it together until now!

I am not going to take it any more and will pay extra $$$ for ortho tricycline low. It's significantly more expensive, but I never noticed side effects.

I'm 29 and have never taken birth control before. I recently fell absolutely in love and got engaged, so decided to start taking birth control. I've always been a happy person but I find myself feeling sad alot now, crying for the simplest thing, having this feeling of dread that comes out of nowhere. The worst part is the nightmares. I've been having these horribly vivid "night terrors". One I stabbed my sister in the stomach and watched her bleed to death, another my fiances' ex (who ive never met or seen nor has he ever spoken about her being some psyco) along with some of her posse, broke into our apt, threw water in my face while sleeping and started shocking me with a stun gun. YES. I actually woke up screaming. And Im on just the first month. Smaller side effects are the usual i guess for BC. Water weight gain, dry skin, having trouble getting wet during sex. Hopefully I can go back to the doc and find something else that will work for me because I work nights and my daytime sleep is precious to me. If anyone has any information you want to pass on, my email is [email protected]

I took TriNessa for about 6 years, and never had any of these reactions. I had minimal and random pimples throughout but never any emotional side effects nor did I ever break out fully. I did not gain any weight during this and enjoyed being on this birth control the most. I just had to switch because my new insurance has a preference, and wish I could go back on it.

Everyone reacts to medications differently. I am in the hospital as I type this because I have 2 blood clots in my lungs due to Trinessa. I had only been on it for a month and 3 days. I am a healthy 22 year old with no medical history and don't smoke or drink. I have been on birth control pills since I was 15 and had no problems until I decided to switch from nuvaring to Trinessa. You just don't know how your body will react. Just educate yourself and know the side effects! If I hadn't read the side effects and ignored the signs I could have died and my 3 year old and 2 year old boys wouldn't of had their mommy! Be safe!

The birth control kept me from getting pregnant so on that subject it worked great. But, I had 3 severe side effects that really effected my quality of life. I was exhausted all of the time, no energy ever (after I stopped taking it with in 1 week I had energy again), I had intense headaches everyday within an hour of taking Tri-Nessa, and I was very emotional. One moment nice next moment sad then mean. It has been a month since I took this birth control and I fell like me again!! And I do not want to stay in bed and sleep all day.
