i honestly think the birth control effects depend on you as an indiviual... tri-nessa works awesome for me. clear skin, regular periods... no weight gain... all that stress and mental issues.... not from the pill!!

I have been on it for at least 5-7 months now. I was originally on Yaz but switched because I was feared I was becoming way to emotional to handle. Here I am, yet again, except within the last two months I've experienced almost all of the signs these other ladies have been talking about: feeling pregnant, eating too much(when i normally eat healthy), gained 5 lbs, boobs got bigger (but the boyfriend doesn't mind), stomach/cramps, a couple times i've had leg spasms, my face has increased acne by my chin, extrememly tired, vision has been messed a bit, severe headaches, spotting between cycles. Also, MUCH moodiness, and lack in sex drive, not so good.

I think i'm done with b.c. all around. It's unnatural and you'll just have to be a bit more careful when it comes down to sex.:)

Good luck to the rest of you. But I recommend just being picky about the guy you choose and he should understand why you're so cautious!

I use to take Levora but it was giving me really bad acne, so my ob-gyn switched me to tri-nessa, my skin has cleared a little bit. But I'm having some symptoms like NO sex drive, easily irritated and emotional...does this have anything to do with it? and/or what can I do to want sex again?

Trinessa ruined my marriage... I was happy with my boyfriend and as soon as I started taking trinessa it ruined my life, I was moody, super sensitive, depressed, and suicidal. ... I lost my best friend, my husband now... worst off... my sex drive declined very much too... even worse no insurance at the moment. Thanks trinessa...

My doctor prescribed me Trinessa about a month ago, and let me tell you, i've been complaining to my boyfriend about so many things of how I've been feeling lately. My mood swings are crazy! i'm crying one minute and the next I'm angry or depressed. I DO NOT recommend Trinessa at all. In my experience, it seems as if most of the side effects hit me with this pill.I'm always itching,( along with red bumps when in the sun), it feels like I'm on my lady days and nothing's there! Back and stomach cramps, migranes, i can't even keep up with my toddler anymore. There's no energy throughout the day..no sex drive when before it was high. I thought something was wrong with me, so I did some research on the internet of this pill. it's the only thing i've been taking. I use to take Ortho Tri for many years to decrease my cists on my ovaries and had no problem. The only thing Trinessa has helped me with is clearing my skin. That's not even worth it though, i'm def switching back to Ortho Tri.

My doctor prescribed TriNessa 12 days ago and after 10 days on it I experienced shortness of breath. 10 steps and it was if I had ran a mile. I came to the ER and was given a CT scan which showed that I have multiple blood clots in my lungs. An ultrasound on my legs revealed that I also have them in my legs. I am still in the hospital after 3 days, on two types of blood thinners and will have to go home taking Coumadin for atleast 6 months. Not to mention how I will have to have weekly blood work now. TriNessa was given to me to help regulate my periods not as a form of birth control. DO NOT TAKE THIS!!! Thanks TriNessa!

DONT TAKE THIS BC PILL.
They are THE SAME THING!!! depends on which pharmacy you get them from. You probably ate something bad. Make sure it was the Tri-Nessa before you comment negatively on it.

I've been on birth control since i was 16 because of acne, but just recently switched to Trinessa when I got married so that my husband and I could afford it without health insurance. It's hard to say what negative things might be attributed to Trinessa or just stress in general. I had break-through bleeding for 3 weeks when I tried to skip my period by going to the next set of pills (which I've done before with another birth control and without problems). I've probably been taking Trinessa for about a year now, but I don't think I've had any really bad side effects. I'm starting to do more research though...birth control affects everyone in different ways.
You can't skip your period on tri-phasal pills.

I agree! If it doesn't work within the first month, switch brands or types. It doesn't work for everybody.

Last month I came off Ocella (generic brand of Yasmine, due to insurance issues) and this is my first month taking Trinessa. I am trying to give it a chance although I have had break-through bleeding, if that is even what it is. I got the brown discharge like many of the posts on here, then that escalated into a light period of some sort - 2 weeks early and this lasted for 4 days. It has gone away for a few days, but now I am getting the brown discharge again and a little spotting when I use toilet tissue. This is really driving me crazy and I hope it is just my body adjusting to the new pill. I guess I am so concerned because I have switched birth controls several times before and have NEVER had an sort of side effects except for the occasional upset stomach when I haven't eaten anything. I hope this all gets worked out... I am not dealing with it if it continues for 5-7 months like one person blogged about... Ugh.. Wish me luck.

I have been on Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo for about 2 1/2 years recently my doc changed me to Ortho Tri Clclen, which i just started taking trinessa. He changed me for the reason that Ortho Tri Clclen Lo was giving me facial hair on my chin and elsewhere and swing moods prior to my period. Cleared my acne but gave that sideeffect. The reason for the hair was probably that Ortho Tri Cyclen lo has low hormones. Which means that i need more hormones and that Ortho Tri Cyclen/Trinessa which has more hormones should stop that probelm.

I'm just finishing my first month on Tri-nessa. I've never taken any birth control before this and I've had practically zero side effects. The first week I had a slight upset stomach after taking the pill, but it wasn't a big deal. So far so good.

I hate TriNessa...I am just going to get off of birth control completely! I have been experiencing chest pains and extreme fatigue and moodiness since I've been on it...I'll just go with the old fashioned BC...NO SEX! lol...I'd rather use condoms rather than experiencing these side effects...

PLease don't take it. I was on this for 3 months and just Sunday (Nov. 15) I was told I have blood clots in my lungs due from the birth control. I spent 3 days in ICU and have to take blood thinners for 8 months at the least. Its not worth it. They told me if I would have waited any longer I would have died. I also have horrible periods (i had heavier blood flow) I gained weight, I was moodier. Its truly not worth it. Please don't take this birth control. Oh yeah I am only 23 years old. I am one of the youngest person that my doctor has seen with blood clots.
