I am an adult bedwetter

My story starts maybe 15-20 years ago. I have Spinal Stenocis, and Diabetes. Over the years I have developed a neurogenic bladder causing me to loose control of my bladder functions. I have tried many different medication, self-catherization, and electrolisys. I guess I have just given up and have gone to wearing adult diapers and plastic pants at night and disposal diapers during the day. Since I have, I fell more secure and confident. Adult diapers are expensive but the cost is worth the peace of mind. Thank you all for your stories, at least I know I am not the only one who has this problem.

I have read all the comments, I have suffered from Night time Enuresis all my life I am now 66 years old, at first I was put into Nappies and Rubber pants, with the old red rubber sheet to protect the bed, when I was in my teens and left school the pads appeared as did plastic pants, so my mother put me in them, also my rubber sheet was exchanged for a plastic one,I was put more than afew tests some with uroligists, when I got married my knew I had this condition but didnt mind, ten years ago I was given free pads and pants for my condition, just lately I am using Euron Form Super pads, they are like a nappy with leak proof thick pads both front and back, they do up with four adhesive strips they fit tight around the legs and dont leak, I still wear a pair of plastic pants over the pad just in case, but I have been using them for three years now and no leaks, I know they can be ordered via the Internet and telephone..
Hi, I too use Euron Form Super pads and find them exerlent but they get a bit slimey if over wet but still very confortable to wear.

You are not alone my friend, there are many disabled people on here in the same posistion and have to wear a nappy but we get on with our lives as a nappy is just anouter form of underwear.
I have become a DL since I was placed into a nappy again after my problems began but rely on them to get me through every day with out embaressment.
I wish you the best of luck in your life.

If you are an adult bedwetter like me why not post your experiences here.
I have been a bed wetter all my life, I can remember being got ready for bed when I was ten, in the late 1950's, my mother would always put powder on my nappies first, then she would put them on with two large kilt pins, then roll a pair of rubber pants over them, when I was eleven years old, my mother started to use plastic pants instead of rubber ones as the rubber ones kept splitting after afew uses, I was taken to see a childs bet wetting nurse at the local health centre she sent me to the hospital for tests, I prodid about and they put a camera up my backside, after afew more tests the urologist said thatmy bladded was ok as was my prostrate, which he said was good, but he felt I suffered from Nocturnal Enuresis, as I got older it became a problem like summer camps with the boy scouts etc, or holidays with my relatives in Devon, but you get use to it, when I was twenty three I met and married my good wife, I told her about my problem at night, she said as long as it didnt interfere with our marriage she didnt mind, but she said she wouldnt but the pads or the pants for me, I spoke to our GP, and told him about my night time problem, he sent me to see the urologist again, who again declared that my prosrate was normal as was my bladder, my GP sent me to see the Continence nurse at our local hospital, it was quite embarrasing sitting there with evrybody knowing why I was there, I went in and saw the Sister who said she had read my medical files, and thought the first diagnosis that I was Nocturnal Ensuresis and had to get on with it, she said that the local health department and the hospital were now issuing pads and pants and plastic bed sheets to people like me, when they arrived the pads were long and quite wide and nearly impossible to bend, the pants were made by a company called Sandra they came in a red box and said that they were sanitised, they smelt of pvc but were quite good, but they were really only made for women having heavy period problems because they had asmall pouch at the botton of the pants to hold the pads, after afew months the NHS and the hospital changed the pads for thinner pads that went around me like a nappy, and the pants were drop front with studs to do up they were very heavy pvc,
at the age of sixty seven I am still receiving plastic pants and nappy style pads, which are more absorbant then a nappy, and the pants are water tight, but they stopped supplying plastic bed sheets, I suppose I will carry on wearing them, but when you go into hospital, they say you cant wear them in the hospital, but I told them they supplied them, but they insist that I have a catheter fitted, which I refuse because they make me wet the bed more after ive left the hospital, so they always call the continence nurse up to see me, she knows me from all the home visits she as made over the years, she tells them that I must wear the pads, which can be thrown away, she said that because the bed as a rubber fitted sheet, I didnt need the pants, as the hospital cant wash them.I have never got any thrills from wearing them or got any sexual gratification from them they are what they are there to protect the bed from you....

I agree with Steve, well written post, at least you saw specialists and went thro' the embarrassment, I have left a few posts on here about me and my nappies but when it started again a few years ago my wife and decided to deal with it our way, so it was back to terry nappies and plastic pants every night and we just live with it, we know we are not alone.

Good for you. Bedwetting isn't the end of the world. I use terries and plastic pants. I find they work best for me.

Hi Col, have read a few of your posts as well as Graham's and I thought it was just me that went through hell with nappies. I was in nappies for bed, trips out etc up to 13 yrs of age. Mum insisted that I was in nappies to control my wetting and despite my arguments it wasn't long befor I found myself having nappies pinned on followed by the rubbers. By morning my nappies were soaked and were not removed till after breakfast. Not only were they thick mum insisted putting a folded nappy inside to act as a booster which made walking a little hard and I was in nappies about 45 mins before bed, a nightmare. Because of my nappies I grew up very shy which led to some day wettings which mum dealt with by putting trainer pants on me with a pair of rubbers. As a child I was in nappies full time till age 4 and soiled in bed nappies till age 7 and she didn't mind telling people if they asked that I was still in nappies especially when shopping and buying rubbers. Now at age 52 I'm in nappies at night again and my wife is now sleeping well. She knew about my wetting as mum told her, she is pretty dominant in the relationship and put me in nappies after 1 wetting, so have been in nappies for the last 2 yrs.

I was in nappies day and night until I was 5 years old and at night a lot longer then that. I'm in my lat 40's and sleep in nappies and plastic pants most nights because I wet the bed just as I did when I was a kid.

The nappies I used to get from the continence nurse often leaked so I went on to terries and plastic pants, much better and far more comfortable.

Hi Graham, so you had the same experiance with nappies like I did, did you wear them for long trips, mum would put me in nappies for long car trips especially for holidays and I can well remember being very hot wearing nappies and my rubbers making me sweat. We stayed in a holiday home because of my nappies so mum could wash them and hang them on the line this was a nitemare, but a nice old lady next door would bring them in if it rained and she would come round saying she had dried and folded the nappies and rubbers four your boy. We went there for many years, just another experience.

Kev, not been too good, thanks for the post, seems you had it bad like I did with the nappy wearing etc but don't worry you're not the only one, and yes I also was put in nappies and rubbers for long car trips so I gave up and just wet them then mum says it's a good job your rubbers fit well.

Col, thought I was on my own but seems not, alot of people here went through the nappy wearing and being nappied for trips etc. My bedroom always had that nappy smell and felt bad about it. By the time I was 8 I was used to mum taking me upstairs and pinning nappies on me then having the rubbers pulled up my legs then over the nappy, by morning going down for breaky the nappy would hang low with them being very wet and the rubbers would swish on my legs as I walked.

Graham, yes in the morning my nappies would hang low after a very wet night, after brekky mum would take me to the bathroom and pull down the rubbers and remove the pins then the nappy would fall down and hit the floor with a thud. Then it was get ready for school etc. A lot of weekends was spent in nappies due to trips out or visiting her friends which I hated, she couldn't bare the thought of me wetting so she put me in nappies the odd time I would have to wear trainer pants with a pair of rubbers but put back in nappies for the journey back home. Now I'm back in nappies for bedwetting and it reminds me of when I was younger, at least she drys them in the spare room.

Hi Kev, were you nappied for afternoon kips? I remember sitting in my wet nappies after a snooze and you could see wee droplets inside my rubbers as well as the yellow stained nappy, felt awkward when mum had visitors but they knew I wore them as there was always nappies and rubbers hanging on the wash line.
