I'm Winnie I wear 36 inch adult cotton nappies with a thick shaped cotton booster pad inside which is double layered for the middle front to back of the nappy. I'm 26 year old female but I can't hold my urine for too long and wet myself at night. I have been wearing nappies for 6 years now. There's nothing wrong with my health I just have a weak bladder so wet myself easily if I wait too long

I do not wear Terry nappies for fun and I am not AB. I have a small bladder so cannot hold my water for too long hence why I need nappies. I do not use plastic pants as my nappy is thick enough but really is my shaped booster as the two layer towelling is extra thick and absorbent and adds a baby dry layer to the nappy designed to suck up and lock away urine fast.
I do feel embarrassed sometimes as my nappies are soaking by the morning but I can't help it and my mum knows about my issue and is ok with it

My mother accepts that I have a weak bladder and often leak urine but she allows me to wash and hang dry my cotton nappies and soaker pads on my nappy rack in the flat alongside normal clothing. I say I'd do nappy laundry twice a week as I need nappies generally as a precaution and they are probably the most essential item of clothing to me.

I have worn terry nappies since I was 15 I am now approaching 19. I have been a lifelong bedwetter and would love to be normal and sleep without all of this lot on especially in the hot weather. I used to wear disposable garments before but I ws worried about what I was doing to the envioronment so I switched . Holly

I wet myself every night. I wear two adult cloth diapers with a toddler cloth diaper in between and I wear plastic panties. My pajamas and my bed stay dry but my bottom is immense. Mom calls it Robb;'s bubble butt. I waddle to bed but I don't need to walk when I'm in bed.

Yes I used to come on here alot but seems most of the people on here actually enjoy wearing nappies.
Where as I longto be free of them and wear sexy Lingerie. I had a boyfriend who said he didn't mind the fact I was paded up each night but in the end it was what finished our relationship.
Sorry you have had to wear for 4 years now ut I have had a lifetime of this. Shame your mum calls you a sissy. My parents are very undersanding of this and have supported me my whole life because of my disability. Yes betwetting is what I call a disability an unseen one by most but for your closest. Holly

Hi Princess Holly, I agree that bedwetting is a sort of disability. Do you know what is causing it in your case?

I’m a disabled teenage boy with Spastic Diplegia Cerebral Palsy (CP), which mainly affects my legs, but in my case it’s also left me with no bladder control, because the part of my brain that would normally control my bladder is also not working. I wet small amounts very frequently, without any sensation that I’m doing so, because it only takes a small amount of urine to get into my bladder before it empties without any warning. I don’t think I have ever been dry for more than half an hour maximum.

My day/night protection now consists of double-thickness shaped terry nappies tightly held in place with Velcro tapes at the waist and thighs, as my clumsy finger control means that I can’t manage pins on my own. I usually have a folded small terry nappy acting as a soaker pad inside my shaped nappy for added absorption. I can’t wear disposable nappies for two reasons. Firstly, they tend to leak in bed if I sleep on my side, and secondly I happen to be allergic to the absorbent stuff that’s used in them, which gives me itchy and painful rashes.

I wear lightweight transparent polyurethane pants over my nappy with the waist and leg bands tucked under the nappy to help prevent any possible seepage leaks. Over that, I wear white polyester pants which have an inside coating of polyurethane. These pants not only provide even more protection against leaks, but they also look more like normal underwear than most plastic pants, so they are less conspicuous if anybody happens to get a glimpse of them above the waistband of my loose-fitting trousers or shorts.

Although I wet frequently (as I’ve explained) the amounts at each wetting are small, so I only need to change every five hours or so. In fact my bedtime nappy lasts all night without leaking. Ever since I changed to tight fitting shaped terries, I’ve noticed that I’m not even aware that I’m wet, even when my nappy is almost saturated, so I can carry on life as normal (within the limits of my CP) without thinking about wetting, as long as I remember to do a nappy change every five hours or so during the day.

If any other disabled people (male or female) have similar wetting problems, perhaps we could share any tips we may have for dealing with it.

Rich.
