You should always try non invasive method of relieving your back pain first. However, it your pain is getting worse instead of better and you are running out of options you may want to look into herniated disc back surgery. Actually it is safer than in the past. Here is some excellent information on the subject.

I recently had to have back surgery for a herniated s4 disc. I was seeing a NUCCA Chiropractor prior to surgery but was not able to get any relief so in my case surgery was the only option. I continue to use NUCCA treatments to manage pains after surgery as well. I do agree that you should look for a non-invasive approach first (mainly stretching and walking) and that the surgery was very quick and safe. I was able to gather a lot of information here regarding NUCCA Chiropractor http://www.alternahealthsolutions.com/

The Herniated disc back surgery should always be the last option because this is the most critical decision that you will be doing. See also http://www.depuypinnaclelawsuit.com/
