Is it the next big thing in osteoporosis treatment? Could be. Could it be the heir to Fosamax? Possible. Let's not forget though that while Fosamax has been considered as a "miracle osteoporosis drug" for its bone health benefits, it has also been linked to certain adverse effects. As a medication, Merck's newest osteoporsis drug may also come with its own distinct side effects. We can only hope that it has lesser adverse effects than Fosamax. Great! Im excited about this drug but I can only hope for the best. Merck & Co.s Fosamax, well known drug of choice for osteoporosis treatment has been linked to serious side effects such as femur fractures and osteonecrosis of the jaw to its consumers. To know more about this, visit

It is great to know that Merck & Co has been developing a new drug that would address the bone problems of some people. However, their previously blockbuster drug, Fosamax, has been causing jaw pain, swelling, numbness, loose teeth, gum infection, or slow healing after injury or surgery involving the gums.
