All are at risk of osteoporosis. Young and old, male and female could develop the disease. Usually, doctors recommend using bisphosphonates like Fosamax. However this drug has had negative feedback. More could be read here http://www.fosamaxfemurfracturelawsuit.com about complaints of side effects.

While osteoporosis has been more prevalent in women, that doesn't make men immune to the disease. Since it is an age-related disease, men as they advance in years may also be made susceptible to the disease, taking into consideration other risk factors. A number of the elderly population, both men and women, are in fact using osteoporosis drugs like Fosamax as treatment.
