I have had many steroid shots.. I kept telling the dr it doesn't do a thing for me. Just made me gain weight and felt pissy all the time, like irritated. Some people swear by them. They love it.

It may take time to see the result. Still better to take medication like tramadol. But always consult your doctor for proper treatment.

I have had so many steroid shots in the last 30 years in my back I can't count them anymore. It wasn't until I had the Epidural steroid injections that I started having problems. After the first one did nothing they did a second injection a month later. The next morning after the second injection I lost the vision in my left eye. I was rushed into a specialist and the first thing he asked me after the exam was had I had any steroid injections. I don't recall ever seeing any warnings about losing my vision due to steroid injections. If you search now you will find them all over the Internet. Now I am limited to pain meds and since I had a reaction it has also affected the pain meds that I can take. I am back to searching for a great back surgeon to see what options I have left. I know the nerve damage down my left leg is never going to get better and I can live with that I really just want the pain to stop. Steroids are not the answer, spinal cord stimulator was not the answer the pain meds help but they are just masking the real issue. So far with the new changes to Health Care I can't get approval for an MRI without seeing a back surgeon and the surgeons what you to bring a current MRI with you. To make things worse the recommended spine surgeons are no longer a part of my medical plan.
