Full story: findingDulcinea

Forget the swine flu outbreak of 1976. Today's outbreak may turn out to be more like the 1918 Spanish influenza epidemic, which started off mild then reemerged to kill millions.

Lederberg passed away a few years ago. This article is obviously not original....probably cut and pasted from old articles.

He said it in 1997, as it says in the article.

I think swine flu is terrifying.

Why do people freak out? Its a little bug and if you wash your hands (which hopefully everyone does already) than you will be fine...and dont do things that stimulate sickness...and dont sneeze on people...thats just gross.

If all you have to do is wash your hands, then why do we have to wear the masks?

I think it is quite possible for this swine flu to turn out as deadly as the spanish influenza i guess we will just have to wait for the second wave to come , that's if there is one
( hope not ), around September maybe ..

Swine flu seems to be picking up momentum. I just might consider getting that vaccination after all.

I had swine flu. Everyone in NYC has it. Knocks you out for a couple days with fatigue, aches, exhaustion and the like, then lingers in the form of cold symptoms for up to week after that. They're now telling pretty much anyone in the city experiencing flu symptoms that they've got the swine. No fun, but definitely not the apocalypse either.

Daily Horoscope for January 7

Capricorn

You'll have difficulty finding equilibrium in your emotional life at the moment; try to control the impulsive side of your character. At work, your usual powers of intuition will be clouded. Fits of feverishness may bother you and break down your energy. If you can get out into the countryside for a walk, you'll feel much better.
