It pretty much means articles have been evaluated and critiqued by researchers and experts in the same field before the article is published. And it doesn't count when you have AoA using Krigsman's 'case report' as 'proving wakefield's science valid' when Wakefield's whatever he had was retracted, and Krigman references Wakefield and others involved with the 1998 retracted whatever-it-was. Aside from anti vaxxer popular claim that I and every one else is a paid pharma stooge, and aside from what I actually do for a living (which in turn annoys anti vaxxers since I don't rely on attacking others and feeding into their attention-seeking) I rely on research. The AoA link was a riot. They're still clinging to Wakefield. They have no other scientist?! Well, they did, but one Geier's license was suspended and the other Geier just pretended to be a doctor but never was. SO that only leaves an unemployed Wakefield. I have a son who has classic autism and a few co-morbids. I do not know the cause of my child's autism and I may never know. But I do know what didn't cause it and I am not bitter and angry my child has autism. I can think of a few things far worse he could have than autism.

The ADELAIDEAN wrote: <quoted text> Seems a bit intellectually 'incestuous', doesn't it. It is. Editors of prestigious journals will advertsie their peer review proces is double blind. This means the manuscript will be forwarded to two anonymous referees who are experts. The problem here is that if you are publishing a paper on a very specific field in english then there really are only a handful of "experts" you can send the manuscript to. Invariably the peers will know who the paper is from. If the author is not known to the peers or the editor it will end up in the rubbish bin.

Elias wrote: <quoted text> The point is it causes serious reaction in only a few children. The benefits of vaccination outweight the risks according to the current data. That does not mean I am not against more studies to look at long term outcomes of vaccinated versus non-vaccinated kids. Why do you consider that dumb? Here comes the pro-pharma spam, and the double talk.

We are not talking about contacting viruses. Getting shot and killed or dying by heart attack have the same outcome too but its not the same thing. We are discussing one thing, does the MMR harm children. The answer is YES

Wrong again. I might think you're the one on welfare since you're the one trying to sue for a pay day. And yes, we are talking about contracting viruses, since a vaccine is suppose to what? Prevent contracting it? And the side effects for both are exactly the same.

Issues of honesty much? you bring up Wakefield constantly. its all you ever offer after claiming over and over there is all kinds of evidence and studies. All you do is call parents who's VACCINATED child was injured, an antivaxxer. Makes little sense, but you rarely make sense.

Post number 7. You, Winnipeg, brought up Wakefield first before anyone else did. You were the first one to type his name. Want to retract you incoorect statement, when anyone can see it's you who is stuck on Wakefield??? And regardless of who has what child, an anti vaxxer is one who name-calls and attacks others, lies (as seen above) and has nothing to back up their claims. It's not my fault you have no proof of what caused autism in your child, or that you couldn't sue but that give you no right to misbehave.

For example, a functional polymorphism of the serotonin transporter gene promoter region has been reported to confer risk for ASDs, and to affect cortical grey matter volume in young children. CDC supports the IOM conclusion that there is no relationship between vaccines containing thimerosal and autism rates in children. The IOM also recently conducted a thorough review of the current medical and scientific evidence on vaccines and certain health events that may be observed after vaccination. It released a report in August 2011 on 8 vaccines given to children and adults that found the vaccines to be generally safe and serious adverse events following these vaccinations to be rare. CDC recognizes that autism is an urgent health concern and supports comprehensive research as our best hope for understanding the causes of autism and other developmental disorders. Advancing research in the search for causes and effective treatments. Evidence from the perpetrators. I've read this trash and its coverup. There can be no genetic epidemic. Vaccines are not properly studied for safety. If a child CAN BE altered genetically by vaccines, who's at fault? Can Pharma simply say we didn't know about those underlying disorders. Well they need to and can't be allowed to hide behind their own incompetence and negligence.

Wouldn't you know it, a study just comes out to go against those anti vaxxers conspiracy: 25 new gene variants linked to autism http://www.topix.com/health/autism/2013/01/25... Note, there also was a control group. So if you're looking for a perpetrator, look no farther than your genes.
