Actually you have a better chance of being killed by a deer or a sicko cop than a random lunatic like the kid like lanza, this is what has caused this media driven uproar.

Actually, in some states there are laws when there are children living in the house, and those laws make sense in those situations. But there were no children in the Lanza house. Also, trigger locks and ammo locked in a different location hardly would do no good if your life was being threatened. You'd be dead before you could ever unlock it or get to that 'other' location for the ammo. It also would not prevent random lunatics like Lanza from gaining access who had plenty of time to gain access to the weapons where ever they were kept.

well it every law obeying citizen has the right to own a gun if they choose. I think you watch too much tv and we read too much constitution. Maybe we should change the laws so you have to be infected with aspergers and take phycotropics for a year before you can legally own one. That way the left still has a statistical argument. Thinking guns are a huge problem is a result of watching too much tv. Hell millions of babies are aborted every year and drones kill innocent children in greater numbers. We don't see obama crying over that and we sure don't see the left crying over dead muslims now obama is potus.

Thanks for the duh moment. Where did I say anything about a law? Americans are paranoid about gun toting killers, and are because of media and gun ownership. Hell you have a felon who served 18 years for murdering his grandma able to but a semi-auto, a shotgun and a hand gun he used to shoot 4 firefighters. What gun laws do boneheads like you keep refering too? Obviously they control no one. So when the next mass shooting takes place and the one after that, and the one after that and the one after that.... how far ahead will you be? ANSWER: no further ahead.

The Constitution, the alleged supreme law of the land has a list of unalienable rights, if you are an American then you support and defend the constitution and if you oppose any of those unalienable rights then you are unamerican.

well I didn't vote for them and their base seems to disagree with them already, but I hate it. I would start a petition to deport murdoch if were a foreigner. More lemmings on the left going along with this.

uh, you said we all think everybody should own a gun. Our right to own a gun is by choice. You see ball bag, I think maybe your opinion of a "typical american" ( unless you mean south america. Helps to specify.) Is probably based on all the over blown stories in the media ( too much tv). Really the opinion of united stated citizens is best reflected through polls. http://www.gallup.com/poll/159569/americans-s...

Hand guns or semi-automatic weapons aren't the problem and in most shootings, there's no one there with any fire power to stop them. So civilians having more fire power than law enforcement really isn't the issue. One death is one too many. People keep focusing on the weapon, when it's the persons urge to kill that drives it, not the method of killing. A ban on weapons will only result in those who have the urge to kill to use a different method.
With all due respect, while i acknowledge that banning weapons will not stop someones impulse to kill, It is absolutely ridiculous to suggest that the solution to gun violence is more guns. if he had gone in with a knife or any sort of close range weapon as opposed to a projectile, he could have been much easier subdued, and there would at most probably be 1 or two dead bodies as opposed to twenty plus. One is too many, but allowing everyday people to get their hands on that kind of power is just absurd.

Peace of mind is everything around here or at least it is in my house. I have a loaded gun near each entrance to my house. I have a loaded 9mm in my pocket most all of the time. When I do watch tv, I have my feet propped up on an ammo box filled to capacity which is too heavy to move and more in the basement.

I have four surveilance cameras with sound always on so I can see and hear what is coming my way. The best way to stop a bad guy is for a good guy to have a gun. My wife and I cried for three days after the Sandy Hook shooting even though our children are grown, so don't try to make it look as if Americans don't care. We still have pink and blue bows and ribbons all the way around our business. I would risk my life to defend a neighbor, even if he is opposed to gun ownership. I would lay down my life to save a child.

Who suggested that the solution to gun violence is more guns??? The ability to subdue a violent person in that situation is speculation on your part.
Every day people who own any type of gun generally do not mass kill people. Violence didn't start with that gun. Get it through your head. The violence started in the head of that individual and the whole country shouldn't be punished for his acts. And a ban on anything means nothing. How and why do you think illegal drugs is out of control??

The silver bullet coors lite kills more people than guns
Make guns illegal ,say like heroin
Can bad guys get heroin even though 90percent comes all the way from Afghanistan
Then bad guys will be able to get guns too

And to the claim Americans are overly scared of random crime
You don't know anything about America , we have a civil war going on
And nobody is talking about it

Why arent you addressing the 200,000 killed in hospitals every year or the much greater suicide rates?
