First understand that vaccines cause autism and your family was victimized by lying corporate greed and a government that denies vaccines are unsafe. Don't look at it as stress, look at it as necessary parenting.

Dr Joti Samra's advice to the mother of a 17yr old to try ABA is perhaps an illustration of why parents get frustrated with psychologists. ABA was specially designed by Lovaas in UCLA to condition children 6 and under to reduce repetitive behaviors. This is why it's often referred to as early intervention.

Samra has simplistically suggested ABA to this mother without perhaps consulting the data that ABA loses it's effictiveness with the age of the person.

As children with autism become adolescents with autism who become adults with autism, the instructional challenges become increasingly diverse and complex. A 17 yr old is nearly an adult and other methods need to also be explored.

The things the parent described can be off any teenager who doesn't have autism. More than suggesing ABA (which is not directed towards older children) the parent needs to learn coping skills and how to redirect effectively. All parents find this age difficult.

Most parents are stupid and lazy and they want EXPERTS to help or cure their children. Thats where Pharma get its power and the quick fix parents want. It doesn't work of course but thats why lazy stupid parents are stressed out.
