I currently have my 12 year old son enrolled in a research study at Vanderbilt. They are studing Metformin as a drug to counteract the weight gain caused by risperdal/abilify. I'st part of the study he has 50/50 chance of getting it. All will get it the 2'nd half.I hope I am doing thr right thing, as I would never want to put my son at risk. Anyone out there have any thoughts on this?

Two things you can't trust, Government agencies like FDA and CDC, and Big Pharma. MERCK'S VIOXX killed estimates of 50,000 to 250,000 with FDA approval. No owner, employee or stockholder at MERCK was ever charged criminally and law enforement/courts allowed out of court settlements that paid fines / compensation that were a fraction of VIOXX profits. Killing consumers is therefore profitable. Doctors are pharma puppets, I'm glad I'm not you.
