Dr L wrote: <quoted text> Two points: 1) READ the Black Box warning onAdvair. Does he TRULY need it? Why? Are you aware of the risks? 2)Nothing is free! There are a lot of man-hours and dollars invested in developing drugs. Who do you think has to pay for it? You want a "free ride"? Pay and shut up! We all have our problems... Amazing how dumb some people can be. Please don't even bother with that post we all understand about the costs of living. I suffer (at a young age) with rehumatoid arthritis as well as bronchial and asthma problems and the cost of different doctors, pills etc. goes close to a $1,000 a month for me and I pay cash with no medical. It takes our entire money. Anyone on advair needs advair so don't listen to anyone. I have been dealing with people like this for years on the internet saying things like "I would never take something like that". Just wait until they are as sick as us and all the other meds don't work, they will be more than happy to jump on our boat. I wish you well and hope the financial situation works out for you. Don't forget to ask your doctor about financial assistance programs. If you really can't afford your medication, then there are companies out there that will help you.

I also forgot to mention how it doesn't matter how much money went into research for a product. It takes a matter of months to just a couple of years for that earnings to be made back which means we are all being over charged for years to come.
It's like the MRI machines at the hospital. Bought 20 years ago and they still charge the full arm and leg just for you to use it saying "it cost so much" even though they made a million times that cost back already.
I would just love those who talk bad about stuff to stand in my shoes, not breathe, not walk, have entire body swell from poor circulation and then see what they want to take to fix it when all the better for you drugs don't work.

I cannot and will not believe that this Dr L is truly any kind of licensed medical professional. Simply stated, any medicines that go through clinical trials, are just samplings from a limited number of people and, not the broader spectrum of people who will eventually use the medicine. Just because 3,900 out of 4,000 found the product to be sufficient does not mean that the next five million people that use it will be in first category. Pharma companies of course will not have any further scientific data to follow up on because once the drug has been approved by the FDA, there is typically no further need for study. Unless there are enough reports of problems that can bring class-action. It's safe to say that it certainly is humorous to see the things this Dr L writes, and how he copy and pasted the information on ProAir from their website.

Dr L wrote: <quoted text> Your points are illtaken. Research costs money. New medicines don't just grow on trees. And when new medicines present issues, they must be brought out. Your use of common sense is at best questionable. I can understand that not being a Medical Professional your knowledge base must be insignificant but please do not try and pretend "knowledge". As a practing MD, my years of experience and training far trump your insignificant and stupid remarks. Your insensitive remarks are stupid. If someone needs help receiving needed medication, they should be able to get help. Would you just let these people die of their afflictions because they don't have the outrageous amout of money needed to pay for these medications?? We can all use some help once in awhile and I am grateful that there are people and resources available when we really need it. On the other hand** Please research the side effects!!! My grandson is experiencing some very awful side effects since he started taking Advair!! Think twice before giving it to young kids!!

I am so glad you are fortunate enough to have health ins. From BCBS INs, my husband, and I were quoted $2,300.00 a month for health care insurance. There is no way possible we could pay this amt, as my husband has been out of work from injury and surgery. Like the person you were passing judgement on and otheres not as fortunate as you, This is not a position many of us hard working , middle class people would choose as a way of life. So tonight as you GET ON YOUR KNESS and THANK GOD for all the blessings he has bestowed upon you, PLEASE ask him to bless us "FREE LOADERS" too.,and let him know also , that even though we aren't as lucky as you, that we are all trying ,we just want to be able to attain medications , so that we may live.

Pay up and shut up? Wow - you are seriously an idiot. I've been paying $350 a month for this same Rx and just lost my job due to layoff last month. No health insurance here and not eligible for any type of insurance program. Maybe you too need a reality check rather than shooting your mouth off. Meanwhile, as for the "free" Advair coupon, it is good for your FIRST Rx and they send you other coupons for $10.00 off. Good luck. Jason wrote: <quoted text> Perhaps you should invest some time in expanding the myopic view you are expressing here. While, it is true that pharmaceutical companies invest millions of dollars in developing new medicines, these are businesses and this particular industry is by far one of the more profitable ones. And yes, it is true that nothing is free, but you must realize that such 'charitable' acts provide these corporations with substantial tax deductions that more than offset any profit loss. The average first year med student should be fully cognizant of the less that righteous practices engaged in by pharma. companies the world over. Please stop berating ppl who are trying to find help and treatment, and if you choose to broadcast your opinions, in the future I would suggest you have them more fully researched.

I went to the Pharmacy a few weeks ago to get a refill for my albuterol inhaler, and was told the price has gone up over $30.00; because of the new ozone laws. I have triad disease, which includes asthma, and need to carry my inhaler at all times. I have read some of the research studies about the new HFA;s, which say it will cost the mfg. LESS MONEY TO PRODUCE these than the old CFC's. Because of a number of reasons, esp. in this eco. depression, I can't afford these another refill, and the new inhaler is empty. Every day my life is at risk, not that it matters to the rich greedy drug companies, or anyone writing the laws of this country. I AM SICK AND TIRED OF BEING RAPED BY THE CORRUPT RICH!!! DOES ANYONE KNOW OF A CHEAP NEW INHALER, OTHER THAN PROAIR HFA? THANKS, L.M.C.

Wow, I thought I had a problem in breathing due to some past indiscretions. I realize that my breathing symptoms are directly related to the air being sucked in by some of the medical nazis on this site...hope you all suffocate on your self centered ideas...thanks for the offer to help but no thanks.
