Regarding thrush and Advair.. Since starting Advair I had a severe bout with Thrush and since and though I do rinse with warm water faithfully after each use of the inhaler, I've had an on going battle trying to control the yeast in my mouth which especially seemed to be worse when I'd awaken in the morning. I started taking the vitamin supplement Biotin (5000) mgs each day to treat a non related symptom that I was experiencing though strange low and behold I no longer have issues with thrush or yeast build up in my mouth. On further investigation I found out that Biotin can actually control the over growth of yeast which is what Thrush is. It really works!

Advair almost killed me after I was on it a month. There were so many deaths from Advair that they were told to put a may cause death warning on the label. I am trying to stay away from steroid inhalers as I have too many side affects that are far worse than the COPD itself.
I can't believe people don't know to rinse their mouths after using inhalers. They prescribe so many inhalers for a great money maker for drug companies. Now they have asthmanex to combine two. its cheaper. I got rid of the nonsense as I was rapidly becoming an invalid that was worse than the COPD. Plus this is a big expense on these meds. And insurance companies review you and pay less every year.
I use my nebulizer with a non steroid drug and doing fine with that.

I am 72 and take seretide and spiriva for severe COPD and had agonising cramps for years, after a spell in hospital I was given an exercise regime which I gradually increased to 40 minutes and my cramps have virtually stopped.
I am also in my 70's with COPD, taking Spiriva and experiencing the same cramping for years. Will you share and describe your excercise regime. I would like to try it and see if it will relieve my cramping. I'll check back with this blog daily.

I used to have Asthma and it's not somethi ng to take lightly. Asthma is nothing more than inflamation. Rather than use many of these dangerous drugs, you may want to do some research on an amazing botanical thta has had outstanding results with Asthma. It's not well known here but there is a ton of research and studies. Here is a research site to learn more www.InformationOnMangosteen.info download the Time article on the secret killer which is based on inflamation. It has helped me in more ways than this. Check it out for yourself.
Great Info Thank you for posting. I will try any alternative to the pharma route...

EVERYONE, please try this simple change in your life and see if it helps with the COPD or asthma or any other problems discussed on this site. THIS NO-COST ACTION HAS HELPED ACQUAINTANCES OF MINE GET TOTALLY OFF THEIR MEDICATIONS FOR COPD.
Simply avoid artificial colors in your foods, drugs, hygiene products -- every aspect where you might find them (which is A LOT). The worst offender is Yellow #5 (tartrazine), but all artificial colors are manufactured from the same thing -- COAL TAR (toxic waste) supplied, for the most part, by CHINA.

Advair all most killed me. My doc put on advair for my copd . Started at 250 dose. Kept getting worse in and out of the hospital 7 times in 1 year. Then he went up to 500 dose. Well, my airways closed up . This time I was in the hospital 2 weeks. I told my doc I will no longer take any drug that is not helping me. So , out with the advair. It has been 3 years off advair and only in the hospital 1 time since. READ THE WARNINGS..BAD DRUG.

Advair has been very dangerous for some. I tried it some years back and after a few weeks my lungs felt like they went cold and I was going to stop breathing and I started to run to get things moving and breathing and after awhile I was ok. I went off it and a few years later tried it again. This time I used the 250 once a day instead of twice a day. It worked and I am doing good on it. I think the drug is only good in smaller doses and they are overdosing people and why it can be a problem.

Advair Spiriva both are inhaler, inhaler just let you feeling better, but shorten your life, and never recover your copd or asthma.
herb can real help you recover your copd, and x-ray will be show you this.

My doctor tried to switch me to Spiriva but it just wasn't as effective as Advair for me. It isn't a one product works for all deal. Everyone is different and able to tolerate some things and not others. I'm not downing Spiriva, just saying you have to find the right combination that works for you. I'm on Advair, Allegra and Singulair. I also have Combivent as a rescue inhaler but don't need it but a few times a month. I've moderate COPD and try to lead an active life. I've learned to cop with breathlessness and don't fear it as I once did. Stop relax, catch my breath with controlled breathing and then get back to it. For me, the worst thing I did for a while was sit around and try not to get out of breath. My body lost muscle mass and stamina. The more I do, the more I can do.

I was taking advair since 2008. Four weeks ago I was put on Spriva as well. Since that time I have put on 10 lbs. Now, I just want to stop the Spriva. Which puts on the weight, Advair or Spriva or both. This is most disconcerting.

Daily Horoscope for May 22

Cancer

The question of who and what you should believe is never far away today. Someone could easily mislead you, although it's a moot point whether they do this intentionally or not. Or there could be a communication glitch that means no one knows what's going on. Be very careful when handling money because there could be lots of silly mistakes, and if you're really unlucky there might also be some double-dealing too.
